At first, it does seem an undeserved loss.
Possible explanation:
1/ your contender played with higher enthousiasm
2/ I doubt your players have high passing/handling skills. 13 TO against a 2-3 zone seems a lot.

Please, explain how I lost this game: (8617649)

Yes, I made more fouls. Yes, my opponent had more free throws than me.

But how did that happen if my ratings were much better, and I had more effort?

And yes i am aware of the following:

I committed 31 fouls which is insane which led to my opponent having a +24 in FT's, I was a -3 in rebounding, my opponent played with higher enthusiasm, and I was on the road.

Just a little confused seeing as the ratings don't really add up to a loss nonetheless a loss by 15. Other than just random

looking at my ratings I was the better team... does the difference between TIE and CT make THAT much of a difference that I would get skunked like this?

If you are unsure about the result of a game, it's important to look at the Matchup Ratings. The points per 100 shots reflect the game better than the team ratings. As you see in that match, he dominated at SG/SF and C, en it was about evenly matched at PG.

The TIE vs CT makes up for the team ratings difference indeed, but it's more usefull to look at the Matchup ratings than the Team Ratings.

did the TIE vs CT have an impact on the match up?

how can I avoid this happening again?

Also, my match ratings indicate that I should have dominated the outside scoring game and kept his inside shots out. How did he score so many?

Sorry, I should have been more clear.

I think the written match ratings (mediocre(low)) etc aren't as accurate as the points per 100 shots ratings.

Lets take a look at your 100 shots ratings;

89.4 as PG 86.4 ---> This one is about evenly matched.
71.5 as SG 94.5 ---> He dominated your SG.
57.2 as SF 89.9 ---> He dominated your SF.
103.0 as PF 90.9 ----> You domnated his PF.
101.5 as C 119.5 ---> He dominated your C.

So he actually was better 1vs1 in 3 out of 5 position, and his PG was about equal.
