was, yes, still, debatable. Anyone seen a photo of how overweight he reported to camp? I heard he didn't cope the first few days

Griffin still needs to develop a mid range jumper and learn how to defend. Not to mention Gasol has crazy offensive post moves.
Griffin will get there eventually. But analysts saying he's top 10 (ESPN) are flat out wrong, placing him ahead of players like Carmelo and Stoudemire.
I think Gasol being lousy in the 2nd half of the season had a lot to do with the heavy load he had over the start of the season, and also the playoff runs and European Championships he played in.
Bynum should have a standout season this time, he's one of the two back to basket centres left in the league. They're a thing of the past now...

LOL have you seen of metta world peace at the american version of "dancing with the stars"? dam he was way overweight..
And Kobe is going thru personal problems of his own, his wife filed for divorce. So I wouldn't be surprised if he will call metta world peace "fat" like he did back then with Shaq.
Gasol is pretty darm good, but atm I'll take Blake anyday of the week cos hes got more drive and goes after every loose ball, plays with a lot more heart and intensity. That means more ticket and merchandise sales. And his stats are not that bad... 20 points 10 rebs for a rookie..

That's true.
Anyway I think the Lakers are still better and certainly more experienced than their neighbours. The Clippers just have an edge in the locker room right now, following their great acquisition AND Lakers loss of Odom.
There is a lot of talking going on but we shall not forget it's just a buzz.
The Lakers are proven champions but they'll definitely need to make a move if they're intended to go for a championship this season.

I would take blake even though he has no defensive capability but even boozer can defend right? he is a really good rebounder as he has proven on the college level but he need to develop a consistent jumper and a go-to post move which is pretty hard to do as even Howard hasn't been able to do so despite many seasons in the league.
At this point, I dont even care if howard goes, just hope we get brooke lopez + a couple of high lottery pick + salary cap relief. Lopez might be a guy even more suited for the magic offense basically designed to boost howard ppg stat. He's got a better touch and find the open man better, he dropped off his rebound last season but rebounding is mostly effort.
but bynum vs Jordan isnt even close, jordan have literally have zero offensive sense while bynum is a 2 end player when fit and could compete for top 5 Nba centers when fit. Jordan is athletic but he need to get better at grabbing rebound or just boxing out his guy. having paul in the team doesnt hurt as he can make guys like okafor and chandler able to score more than 10 per game.

Lopez is one of the worst rebounding centers in the league, it's hilarious.
He's just plain lazy.

Seven foot hairy, ugly girls.
If you want someone to fill up your handicapped parking spaces I would go Bynum.
If you want someone to clothesline the smallest player on the court I would go Bynum.
If you want someone to disappear in big games I would go Bynum.
If you want someone to be injured for weeks at a time and keep your medical staff busy I would go Bynum.
If you want someone who can still look average when surrounded by maybe the best talent in the league who are attracting the best defenders and being the focus of the opponents then I would go Bynum.
If you want someone who is just a constant dissapointment I would go Bynum.
If you want someone who has a great attitude, is learning fast, is an incredible athlete and will look incredibly good suddenly being paired with the best passing PG in the league I would go Jordan.
I was like everyone else, just a season ago I was all over the Lakers front line, Gasol top 3 PF, Bynum top 5 C, Odum best big off the bench in the league and probably top 3 6th men overall. But subtract the support of Odum and Gasol and Bynum will be asked to do a lot more especially if Metta World Peace, an old worn out and pissed off Kobe and the worst PG in the league are your other three guys on the floor. Bynum looked great surrounded by an unstoppable Kobe, and an almost unstoppable Gasol, especially when they had athletic guys like Ariza but on this team I just don't see it.
Perhaps I am harsh on him, and perhaps it is because everyone had such great expectations, but all I feel when I think of him is dissapointment.
One bright point could be the new coach, perhaps he will get more out of him and perhaps he will like the new offence better.

Any thoughts on the all star game?
Happy to see I snuck 3 blokes into the team - including the ageless 78 year old Les Gafa for his 12th all star game appearance.
I reckon the great 8 looks slightly stronger, so reckon they might take it home this season.
In the three point shootout, I've got half the contenders, so hopefully I can take it out!
. Don't reckon Hahi or Wazza are much chance, I'll back Asghari to win it from Goodall.
