Training court

With a training court, does either the level of the staff trainer or the age of the player affect the training from the training court?

Thanks

I use this format for my trainees in this situation.
A - A - F

B - G - H

C - G - G

blanc- D - D

blanc - E - E
D and E will still start and will play 48 minutes if there are no injuries or 6 fouls. has worked for me since I started using it.

Hi, I am a new player (actually i played for a few seasons years ago) and for now I train 3 Centers while being 1st of my conference (5-0). As I will probably not be able to be promoted at the end of the season I wonder if I should sell my top players (the 3 I got with the completion of the tutorial) and recruit 3 other trainees to train 6 of them (in 2 position training such as Rebound or 1v1) while minimizing my salary (as I don't have the minimum salary for at least 20weeks) and "tank" for the draft
I also recruited a level 5 doctor that I pay more than 14K a week, should I fire him to recruit a level 3 to pay less salary?

What do you think would be strategy for my team?

Thanks

I wonder if I should sell my top players (the 3 I got with the completion of the tutorial)

You can't sell the "star" players you get at the start, only fire. I can't remember how long you have to wait before you can sell, maybe the same amount of time the salary cap doesn't apply. Depending on their skills I'd likely keep them, it costs some salary but they can help you win games to make up for it.

and recruit 3 other trainees to train 6 of them (in 2 position training such as Rebound or 1v1)

It's better to decide what training suits your trainees, rather than choosing a training specifically because it trains six players. I'm not familiar with big man training but I don't think people normally start with RB, usually ID or IS. 1v1F can also make sense depending on the final build you are aiming for.

while minimizing my salary (as I don't have the minimum salary for at least 20weeks) and "tank" for the draft

You need about 50-70 scouting points to give yourself a decent chance in the draft, so I'd only tank if I was sure I'd have enough points and that homegrown players were what I needed.

Keeping salary very low at the start to maximise profit is a strategy that can work, I used it for two seasons in Utopia. However winning games leads to better fan survey, better attendances etc. which leads to more money. Even if you can't promote this season, winning a lot of games can still be the right path, as well as being more interesting than losing every game.

I also recruited a level 5 doctor that I pay more than 14K a week, should I fire him to recruit a level 3 to pay less salary?

Yes, I would wait until the day before the next economic update then fire him. I don't think any doctor is necessary for a new team, it's fine to save the money and go with the $2k salary one you get after firing.

What do you think would be strategy for my team?

If it was me, I would keep salaries low - keep your star players, have enough trainees, but avoid buying veteran players with high salary. I would try to win as many games as possible and try to get a better understanding of tactics while doing so. And put most of my savings into building a bigger arena, while spending $10k/week to collect 2pts/week for scouting a draft a few seasons down the line (you can save your points).

Given you've played before and already have some trainees, you are probably on the right path

Thanks for your detail answer!

So my training strategy with 3 Centers that I will train on ID or IS every week (all should play 48min as a C each week) isn't bad then? My trainees are not the best but I plan to sell (one of) them if I am lucky with the draft and get another good trainee

So for the next draft I should probably not spend a single scouting point, draft randomly and keep points for future drafts? Or is it still worth it to spend 10points to find a few good prospects (as I'm in league 4 the other teams in my league wouldn't spend too much on the draft I guess)?

For now I only spend money on my arena + 2 drafts points week on top of salaries

Thanks again for your answer

Happy to help!

Yes I believe doing IS/ID to start with is a common strategy, possibly until they reach around 12-15 in those skills. That will probably take a couple of seasons so by then you should have a better understanding of training and what you want to do with your players next.

So for the next draft I should probably not spend a single scouting point, draft randomly and keep points for future drafts? Or is it still worth it to spend 10points to find a few good prospects (as I'm in league 4 the other teams in my league wouldn't spend too much on the draft I guess)?

That's what I've always done - either spend 50-70 points or nothing. It is possible to spend less than that and find a nice draftee. However it is risky as if you start with say 30 points you can run out of points without finding anything. If you spend 50+ then the likely worst case is you should find a couple of ok prospects that will sell for something. And anything less than 30 points seems very unlikely as you'd only be able to scout a few of the many players in the draft.

You're also unlikely to find anyone randomly of course, but at least your cost is zero so anyone you find is a bonus.

For now I only spend money on my arena + 2 drafts points week on top of salaries

Sounds good!

Thanks for the precisions

Is it really worth it to spend 300K+ worth of points on a single draft? How much can you expect from the sale of the best prospects? Even if I guess that the best way to take profit of very good prospects is to keep and train them
