Because there is also the chance of getting an 18 year old hall of famer with 7k salary who has respectable in every stat and everyone is dying to buy him off you for millions of dollars, or you could have the priveledge of training one of the potentially best players in the game. But you are right, what's the big rush?

Same here. I've got two guys that look great despite a small spending on scouting (although league average was only 5K). I'll be ticked if I don't get either one but that's what will probably happen. I'll end up with a 5 ball star rating guy whose potential will turn out to be zip.
