We're auto-tuning them every season based on global revenue, as outlined in the blurb I posted earlier about the NBA.

I'm very sure that when the game first started they did make adjustments to their formula's.

Lets just see a quick summary of Hattrick
Season 11 is when the current version of HT was born, ending the test runs of HT classic.
Season 12 is when they added Promotion and relegation.
Season 15 there was a "depression" resulting the the developers resorting to give out 200k to each team to boost the economy
Season 21 HT crashes completely and has to be restored from a backup
Season 29 second crash
Season 30 added skill decline
Season 38 Transfer Market Regulation

The point being that until season 12ish HT was crappier than BB was at release. They have made changes the entire time to adjust to what they see just like BB does. The BB's have looked to take what good they can from HT that they think will work here and integrate it into the game. They do their best do regulate and adjust BB so it does not stagnate in the same manner that HT has.

Buzzerbeater took different approach, which I both like and don't. On one hand, the player wages is the most essential part of team financial situation, therefore even the smallest adjustment (5% for instance) could make a big influence on the other parts of the game

5% is already pretty big, and later in the game the prices become pretty stable with the system ;) but currently is it the problem, that you have a bunch of player who get trained, but no quality player who is getting weaker so the salaries had to fall, to make the salary still fit.

I also think, that 5% is a lot. I just took this figure from BB news announcement, where it's presented as a "slight change".

Sorry, I have to correct, even if that's totally BB irrelevant. That change involved only stamina skill decline.

That also is not as dramatic as it sounds. With this change no prices were regulated. It was just a small adjustment to limit daytrading - from that day a player has to play a game for the team before he could be resold.

Your point in no way relates to the matter being discussed here. I'm not talking about all changes, of course I accept the game will evolve in many ways on a continual basis. No one is arguing about that. What I am questioning is the necessity of salary adjustments every season. Perhaps we can now agree the game won't fall apart if they don't happen.

Whatever countries allow or don't allow, companies have to adjust to market conditions. They do not remain static whatever a country decides.

I never liked the way the HTs tampered with the economy, just when it seemed the market had reached some kind of equilibrium, they would change something, so I questioned why we needed to have adjustments every season here.

The way you personalise the argument is an example to us all. Talking about me having a problem with just about anything is really wonderful of you. No doubt if I said that to someone I'd get a ban for personally attacking them. Aren't you able to stick to the topic?

Fyi I don't have a problem with just about anything or I'd be responding to every thread. And I'm not going to bother writing I agree posts to everything I agree with. You'd probably ban me for spamming. So I'll usually write when I disagree with something in a topic of interest to me. Maybe that way I'll learn something. And actually I have gained some insight into how the game works thanks to Edju and Mod-CrazyEye. It is good to know the best players will usually be affordable by the top teams. That is certainly something HT could learn from.

Out of interest why couldn't a trained monkey learn to promote to the top level here, given enough time?

I've had some discussion with a few GMs, last I knew they did not create the game.

And of course I have no firm idea, that is why I questioned the need for the adjustments. Those concerns have been addressed.
