The return of invest increases
No, for all teams in league sum of returns is stiil the same. So there is no profits globally, only more possibilities to cheat.

Of course it increases (or might increase) for the one buying the pick. Who cares about the leaguewide?

When you invest in the draft to draft a great player just to sell it and make tonnes of money is just plain stupid. Drafts are intended to get access to great players with just a little investment (20k each week isnt alot if you get a great player).
The whole point of just selling a talented player is wrong. If you pick someone the idea is you train this player to be a superstar. Nowadays people pick the best player and sell him for an amount of money higher than he well ever be worth except in some rare cases.
I would rather settle for a system where you can sell your draftpick on some kind of internal market within your league. There you can sell a first round pick for the coming season and all the other players can bid on it (with a minimum price set etc.).
This could be combined with the inability to sell a player which isnt in your team for at least lets say 16 weeks. This way this game would not be about how fast can I sell my first round pick but about a long term strategy.
Off course this system could cause problems in lower divisions with alot of inactivity but you could inactivate the system below a certain level of activity. I just think and I hope some people agree with me that this would be a nicer system but off course require alot of tweaking and adjustment. The current system of drafting is great if you use it as it should be used but it isnt used as it should be which in my opinion is a shame.
Just thinking about improving an allready great game :-)
