There´s slightly longer time periods, because you´re lmiited to no more than one change in a season in Europe (that other division from NBA, you know) and of course it´s just soccer, but to some degree it´s still daytrading.

And yes I've seen that kind of trading even in NBA. You thought some player will be great but he don't fulfill your expectations so you sell him to another team that want him. Simple

Did you ever see a real team that purchase several players and not even using them?

Is this game is an eBay-game or a BB-managing game?



in germany we have several player each season who get kicked out again, before they played or after some games every season. Since they often get replacement of player, who suffer the same in other countrys and i remember some of them coming out of israel that seem to be not so uncommon.

But yes player trading in basketball is pretty rare. But we have player agency like beobasket controlling teams, to get their players there and represent them on a top level. At least beobasket handled it like that in the late 90s and they are in control of a serbian team right now even when i didn't look at their player movement.(also Alba berlin who often get they player there didn't get so much new player every season like in the past^^)

So, I understand that you support a single transaction for player in each year.
That will mean that he will be part of a team for at least on seasons.
Great!

I've never seen, and sure not to current extent, a player who is being bought and after a week is being sold.
Here, where the market is not limited and day-traders, who tries to make their eBay game stay as such, can define values, that will never be seen on any real league.
Hence, this period needs to be extended and not shortened.

I'm sure that the herd of day-traders will support your claim, but it is not for you, me or them to decide what will happen with this suggesiton.

No they did not.

Day trading - buying a player, not using or improving it (enough or at all), and selling it for an higher price.
I never heard of a case like that.
The value of a player that is being sold due to failing in his current team is not going up, but down.

This game is not an eBay-game, or an agency game.
It is a BB-managing game.

I began to read this whole thread and it kind of got repetitive so I skipped to the end so forgive me if this has already been answered.

How does day trading negatively affect BB? I read the post about the 18 year olds sitting on a roster, but if they are really that good of a prospect, then a day trader is going to have to pay more for him, and then with the penalty for selling him again will not make any profit.

Is there anything I'm not seeing or is "Day trading" more of an annoyance than a problem?

The thing that makes 18 year olds so attractive to day traders is that they can be very cheap to buy, cost little to keep and they can keep a stable of a dozen or more and if one sells they break even, sell two and they make a profit. That is great for them but for small nations that spend time and enthusiasm to try and save a player who is already a marginal talent to see them just sitting and being relisted for crazy prices week after week is very annoying and really sabotages our potential team development.

It doesn't affect the one player we get a season who is an 18 year old $6,500 salary superstar potential, they usually go to good teams, but you can't make an U21 team on one player a season, those $4,000 allstars that the day traders pick up for close to nothing could become the best player in our team, but instead they rot for weeks before they are eventually resold.

The supernations like China, USA, Poland, Spain etc aren't affected by this, they have thousands of talents and probably don't even notice what happens to most. For us every player is important. So "that good of a prospect" is really relative.

mailny for the reason, that they don't buy/sell players there, is it very rare that you pay transfer fee at the european basketball. Sometimes ACB teams does, but i am not an expert there.

But in germany we had maybe one transfer the last 5 years, and that was a payment a club had to made since they signed a player who had a contract in germany and just refused to fly there, his agent said his contract is void and organised him another contract - with the problem that the contract wasn't void. Afaik even the player pay the transfer sum to make him eligible for playing

but i can give you example in the NBA where player was traded to a club, who traded them right away most likely cause they expect to get a better player for them or increase the value with the switch?

If you would have read, you would have known, that the case here is the following:
1) There is no limit on a player value.
The worst player can be set to market with 1M$ starting price, and be paid that much.

2) The day-traders are using this to get bargains with newbies that are not much familiar with the game, and with not-that-good BB-managers.
On real-life, you will not see a team playing unlimited value for every player.

This game is not about eBay, or being an agent.
It is about being a BB-manager.
After you are doing this kind of operation, you don't really need to even manage.
You have enough money to do as you wish.

When a user is against making this game a more BB-managing game and support eBay-features, you need to ask yourself "why?", and check his Transfer-History and see the reason there.

I don't know why you are playing this game, I'm here for playing BB-managing.

It is about:
1) Managing your money - When to invest on players and when on Arena.

2) Training players as good as you can.

3) Using the draft as good as I can, and by using I mean also investing on scouting points.

4) Using the game-tactics to overcome my opponent.

5) Using the money that is dedicated for salary to build the best team I can.
Meaning, defining which skills I prefer on which position, and what are those I can leave W/O at this time.

etc.

It is not (like others) to make unrealistic bargains (due to current several trading definitions), and basically that's it.

Circular trade is just not relevant.
It is still "zero-sum" bargain - each team get's something with the same value, as none would want to lose...

It may be executed in two steps, but it is still a circular-trade, and it is still a bargain that is fair for all.

Nothing that can be say for a bench-warmer (for example) who [is being/can be sold] for any price you would like.
