As I said, I definitely agree that substitution patterns currently are very idiosyncratic, and could certainly be better described, and hopefully changed at some point. But that's a completely different topic than the Injuries discussion in this thread.

Imo currently it's simple. Don't care about minutes and want to win whatever it takes → LCD. Want some predictability in minutes and get your weak trainees in for minutes SFDC.
Yes injuries do screw up minutes, but that's why you have a 12 player roster set up for games. Too many or too early fouls might also screw up minutes, let's eliminate fouls in game aswell?

There are endless examples of this in real sports, and it makes for great drama and great debates!

I can see some silver-lining examples of drama created by injury, but would much prefer to see healthy fully available teams and superstars battle it out.

The eastern conference playoffs would be much more interesting if rose, noah, howard, josh smith, jeremy lin, amare (im sure im missing others) were 100% healthy. No doubt that will be reflected in TV ratings as well.

Sadly, I don't think anything would make the NBA playoffs more exciting, or exciting at all. :)

Except that we continue to discuss off topic here, this is not an excuse for a feature not functioning.
It should be fixed, removed or at least having an explanation for what it actually does...

but it goes into the same direction, if rose can't get injured to don't ruin minutes and let the superstars battle it out . Foul trouble leads to the same.

And having a deep bench helps a bit, to injurys at the same position are crap like in your case but it isnÄt like too injured player are close to common. maybe that one problem, but i would either raise then then eleminate then.

Similar but different, particularly as some players are more prone to fouls and if you investigate that as a buyer then you assume the risk. Fouls effect every game. Injuries might only happen once every 10 games, or, suddenly twice in a game 3 of the finals.

Again, that's not what im suggesting and effects the game in a much different, more fundamental way.

But there are players that are more prone to injuries than others. Should you not try to get rid of those players in order to minimize the injuries? Perhaps adding injury history to players would be cool.
And thanks for giving me a superhero name!

I think the suggestion, as given, is wrong, but I agree that there is something in that.

I think on a different, and more realistic, proposal.
Currently during season, I guess they are taking mainly the last X (3-4 I guess) games, and the current game into one formula of randmoness.
Hopefully, they are also taking the level of effort (TIE, REG or CT) as well.

I think that for the playoff, a different method should be taken.
First, taking into consideration the total minutes played this season (will also affect the phenomenon of buying best players of a team just before playoff time).
Not taking into consideration the current game minutes (but taking the effort as well).
Using a different randomness formula, as during playoff, usually there are less injuries, as teams' coaches usually taking more care for getting to that crucial moment as fit as possible. [although there are accidence - Rose... Davis... etc.]

In general, my favorite games are PL and B3 games as all the other annoyances that ruin the GE experience (the single largest reason Im still playing) are removed. There's none of the effort posturing, worries about minutes or training, injuries sticking past the game (maybe thats a better suggestion, no injuries beyond the game?) etc.
