To use one of the Crazyeye argument, if we had better draft than now, there would be no more reason to train locally. Everyone will just pick a spanish player better than what we got now.

You draft an aussie Perennial All Star with this and that. The spanish team is selling an MVP with a little more of this and a little more of that. People will buy the spanish player as they do now.

Denver did this in this past draft with the French guy.

ok u are right about 1 thing being snappy wasnt nice so i aoplogise

but u r wrong totally even ur examples show how wrong u are a hilarious attemt u just shot urself in the foot

denver is a total mess i dont know what they r doing but i did only claim the vast majority

memphis best players r rudy gay, mark gasol, oj mayo & zach randolph the first 3 were trained by memphis & rudy gay was a draft pick & marc gasol played his whole career here your example proves my point

sacramento proves my point even more best players cousins & evans both home grown draft picks

yet in bb how many teams in the top leagues have their best player as their own draft pick?

& i hope this doesn't come across as snappy just really amused

i'm not saying that every 1st round draft pick turns into a star cause lets face it he vast majority dont but that there are enough that most teams can have some starters that r their draft picks & a lot have their best player as their draft pick whereas it is rare here

i had a brief look @ the top german league & the first 6 teams i looked @ didnt have 1 of their top 5 players as a home drafted guy

the balance here is wrong

Isn't a lot of great teams in BB have their top player not drafted?

some may agree with this but i dont

i totally disagree

i think there is a certain standard of player that is good enough

right now we simply dont get them

sure people wet themselves over $7k HoF potential guys & pay millions

but unless ur training him for a NT what is the point?

for 95% of the teams in the game all they need is a decent perennial allstar so why buy a spanish mvp for a fortune when u have your own guy who u can train & will be good enough for ur team forever?

but right now u can spend $20k a week then draft a bench warmer, a role player & a starter & u have nothing worth training & can get better for $1k

if peeps could draft a decent $4k perennial allstar every second season many would be content to train them sure some would still want the spanish mvp but at least there would be a real choice

what does the front page of the site say? draft a superstar? lol impossible!

OJ Mayo, was a draft from Minnesota ;) Marc Gasol isn't a Laker, Rudy gay a Rocket draft pick, and as you noticed right Randolph was drafted by the Trail Blazers. Memphis wasn't really a top team, so get early picks, who are also raising there chanche here to get a trainable player, but they chossed to get player from outside teams instead. Those player are like the bought player from spanish third league team here, and the NBA have less player to choose from since most player who having the quality to play there already sign up at there draft. So far less option to trade, who are also more complicated then here.

I like this draft since he is 4 years ago, NBA team can train every playerso they should now be Franchise players or starters at the team who drafted then.

Lets look at his draft, there was overall 12 trades out of 28 players. In first round. I count three franchise player for the team with the Draft rights, which is actually not a bad value. This would mean 1-2 or two in a BB league.

1. Rose - prooves your point
2. Beasley a heat, dont think so
4. Westbrook, your point
5. Love, not a Memphis player right there was a "spanish" player from Memphis(3) where they are exchanged
6. Glinnari - not a New York Franchise player, he is in Italy now
7. Gordan - not a Clipper, but at least Franchise guy quality what you couldn't say about lot of the later picks

yes but he was drafted by New York ;) Which mean he should be there, and be a star. Since tteams don't give away there draft players and all are good enough for the NBA like Alexander. And that already in a league where all good players assign, and ain't splitted over the world to fair conditions.
Edit: A i see he is back to the NBA now in Denver ;)

Memphis.... GM Crazyeye explained, but you are wrong on Memphis, apology for that need not be there.
Sacremento does prove your point, but their record also proves your following post as being something that needed to be said.

In BB, dunno. Worth starting a poll over maybe? But in NBA... MLB, NFL, NHL, etc. etc. etc. etc.
How many homegrown players are the team's best players, a good share, but how many stay their ENTIRE careers at said team?
NBA, I can name... Kobe, Tim Duncan, Wade (ish) some people say LeBron's better, prior to this season I'd disagree.
ANyone can saty 1-6 years on a team, I don't even look at that as being a valid argument. When you've been on your team for over 7 years, and haven't left that's saying something because thats 2 contract negotiations worth of staying.

MLB... Mariano Rivera for NYY, Helton for Colorado, those are off top my head... Most are more old-school time periods.

NHL .... Brodeur, Crosby (so far)

You see my point... If it's not realistic in real life... how can you quantify it as being something that should be realistic in a fictious simulator game?

i thing that complicates things is the draft day trades cause i admit when guys have played their whole career for the one team u do kind of assume they were drafted by that team like kobe but when u dig they werent

the 2008 draft was very prone to that with 30/60 of the draftees either being a traded draft pick (before the draft) or a draft day trade

but whatever i will stick with 2008 here is all the lottery picks

1 rose - proof
2 beasley - traded but good enough to train if he wasnt nuts
3 oj - draft day trade - ddt for love - good enough to start ill call this tier two proof - ttp
4 westbrook proof
5 love - ddt for oj - ttp
6 gallinari - fail
7 gordon - was fine traded so ttp
8 alexander - fail
9 augustin hey its charlotte
10 lopez - proof
11 bayless ddt for rush fail but close
12 thompson - proof
13 rush - ddt for bayless fail
14 randolph - fail

so 2008 isnt the greatest draft but of the top 16
4 are starters on their team and 3 real stars
3 are stars on other teams
4 were fails
beasley, augustine & bayless r all debatable

7 stars from 14 picks in 1 draft

ever seen that in bb? nah
