The sad truth is that, of course, we don't know what 20/18 guys would do against traditionally built guards because they're not being built

I know of this one team that has a backcourt consisting of two guards at 18/18 and 19/18 in terms of JS/JR. The two players shot a mostly disappointing 38% and 34% from three point range last season in division I. Despite massive salaries and ratings that put them amongst the best in the world, their actual performance isn't really getting the job done. It's not hard to understand why very few managers have chosen to go the JR route. The balance isn't there yet and I'd be surprised if we've seen the last attempt at trying to increase the value of outside offenses.

PS. The team I'm referring to is my own in case it wasn't clear

Nice, and ouch. I'm actually aiming at getting three guys to 20 JR before going even more unconventional with them.

Just out of curiosity, based on my experiences, I wonder if you ever noticed either that your guys shot better percentages when guarded as opposed to uncontested shots, or if you saw more than a couple of games where your players had high PP100 predictions that they massively underperformed (e.g., 25% shooting or less on a 90+ PP100)? I was convinced that there was something with the Princeton tactic that make the SG's actual production plummet.

It's just sad that a guy with 19/18 JS/JR shoot 3pts 38% in a season. Who would train JR if he see that? An the salary is so high for those players.. they should score 3pts like Kobe in his best days.. better train a beast inside and win your games.

OD is overpowered, I agree.

+ 2-3 zone is useless on BB, and this zone should stop Inside teams, no way atm.
You know that a guy will play LI or LP, but you will never set 2-3 zone, cos you know you will lose it.. it should be just opposite of this..

This is where we hold them!

Ηonest question, since i didn't play the game back then:

When run 'n' gun ruled, what changes were made that led us to look inside dominance?

Kobe in his prime only managed to shoot more than 38% in one season. According to your logic 3point shooting is overpowered already ;)

A better example would be the CBA, where decent players shoot ~48% from three on a good volume.

Just said Kobe cos hes my favorite player, don't be so literal mate
You got the point of that what I said, that's important ;D

The 19/18 JS/JR (or similar) must score more from 3 pts.

This is where we hold them!

We could agree that maybe Drazen Petrovic would be a better example.

~50% shooting, with ~40% from 3 - on good volume, would be my expectation for such a 19/18 player.

Guess we haven't seen higher PA or HA and therefore no change in how the game seems to work.
I'll tell you this: I had 65 Passing in my starting 5 last season. It helps, but it's nowhere near enough to be able to run outside offenses and trump OD with limited shooting. Shooting is also required which leads to the real problem: the salary and potential required to build players with high PA, high OD (which by default means relatively high DR/HA) and high JR.
