Since I spend enough of my time at low levels of play to know, I'll say that I agree with Hrudey. In lower divisions Run and Gun and Base Offense are just as effective as look inside; the key to beating most teams in lower divisions is through what I call style-matchup defense. It's where you choose a style of defense based on the team ratings in outside scoring, inside scoring, and rebounding you expect your opponent to have. You want to make sure your defense is strongest in whichever area they're strongest, while still strong enough in the other areas to not give up a big advantage. (For example, if a team has strong outside scoring and mediocre inside scoring it might be a good time to break out the 3-2 zone, or even the 1-3-1 if their rebounding is really low. However, if their inside scoring and rebounding are high, 2-3 is the way to go.)

Firs, how can you be successful if you never get to the top? You can be successful just in your eyes when your biggest trophy is one from the 3rd league.

If you never make it to WR 250, you're doing something wrong. Or you play just for fun and to waste your free time. It's OK. Skill manager? Where, in III or IV league, with bot teams or half active teams playing always the same?

The reason LI dominate the game is just its over power and there is not a normal defense to stop it cos 2-3 zone doesn't work. + outside beasts are too expensive to train.

You don't see the point? I see the point, learn people from the beginning how this game works, don't give them fake tips so they make something wrong at the start. Build an inside team to get success, it's the easiest way, if you want try something other, experiment, go ahead, it's cool, but I don't "teach" someone wrong.

Anyway, no one need to give them tips, they can just go and see the B3 matches and see how champions from whole world play, simple as that.

This is where we hold them!

All this success you talk about for so long...I mean I like you and all but its BS. Your teams do well because they aren't facing real competition, not because LI isn't overpowered at your level.

You don't need LI in DIII because you don't need to be any good in DIII. If you were any good...you wouldn't be in DIII anymore.

If you are any good below WR 250...you'll get up to WR 250...your team should steadily climb the ranks over time.

I topped out at WR 110, though I really only claim a max of 127 because that's what I was at before my last two competitive games with my active roster. I was #5 in the USA when I got run out of the Cup in the final four. I had a PL win over the WR #7 (though he ran inside isolation rather than LI that game). And the season before, I was 22-0 in USA II.4, and missed on promotion when my PF at SF picked up two technicals late in the third and I ended up losing by two points.

So excuse me for being accurate, but I think 22-0 in the second best league in the USA while WR 250 and better with an outside offense literally qualifies me to say exactly what I said. I don't claim to speak for B3 level competition, but likewise the two of you have literally no room to dismiss my opinions for never reaching WR 250 when, you know, I kind of blew by that.

That's nice, was a fine team you had, for a II league. If new guys want to make to this point and no more, they can play every tactic with every kind of players, it's fun.

But we have a different opinion about a word success.

Winning a national Cup, 1st League, play B3, go far, top10 WR, no1 why not, that's success for me.

My Cup final S32 vs a B3 finalist.

(87480151)
I won 1p with Princeton vs inside tactic, but I hit 2 GDP and he missed the inside prediction, still I win just by 1 point, and we had similar teams.

So you need epic luck, hit both GDP, he need to miss his, to be 50-50 when you play some other tactic vs inside.

If I played this match LI, hit 2 of his GDP, and he predicted I'll play balanced or outside, you know what would happened?
I would won it 20-30p.
Hope you get the point.

If you want to be of the top, you have no other way atm, it's sad, but true, inside vs all.

Ofc, everybody have his own opinion, I respect that, but people just need to go to top teams of BB and look their matches, like Mordor, how do he get 3 times in row B3 champ? He had all players like all-round beasts, he could play every tactic he want with that players. But does he played an another tactic then inside?

If you look better, everyone predicted his Inside tactic, everyone, cos all know that he play it, and all those hit predictions doesn't matter, cos the strenght of Inside win close to always.

Cheers mate

If any manager wants to hear about how to build a outside shooting team that stops any offense for any level just send me a mail!

And when you build that team send me a message to beat that team with my LI reserves.

I'm tired about those rants.

Yes, LI is very powerful.
Yes, the 3-2 isn't as effective as it should be, but come on !

Each time someone comes with an alternative, explains his standpoint, you just assume he is wrong and you can only be right.

Saying you won by 1 playing princeton and woiuld've won by 20 playing LI : well yes of course, your team is built for LI !

When most players on the market are built for LI, when assembling a high SB high JR team is impossible because those players have to be homemade and thus you can't get to the highest level with'em. (too many formation cycles to assemble a whole team)

So stop saying the only way to win is LI, this is what is making it worse !
