LOL that also reflects on the team salary as well. With all the big 8 teams at the bottom of the list except for whitebeard.
The bottom four teams in the big 8 are definitely in tanking mode. Maybe they are tanking for some good rookies this season? Hopefully a Bowman or a Neale pops up.

if that is what they are doing then boy are they going to be disappointed based on the last few seasons. (and I think you have your 'big' and 'great' mixed up there koop)

Maybe I should tank next season and drop back to div 2 in the hope of coming back in to the easy 8 ... sorry, meant 'great' 8 ;)

hahah yeah meant the great 8, that is definitely the easier conference all thanks to a bot. A bot always causes a chain reaction. Also the last 4 ABBL titles came from the great 8 so does that mean its the product of an easier conference cos the top teams have it easy and get HCA in the grand finals?

In all my time in the ABBL I've never seen a really good rookie drafted.

And dropping back to div2 and coming back to the easy 8 is a viable option, you get 1mil promotion money plus a chance at the abbl title =P

I wouldn't say that the fact that the great 8 has won the last few titles is product of an easier conference. Being in the 'easier' conference definately helps to get HCA during the playoffs. But I think Whitebeard/WA have been the best teams over the past few seasons, and would have won regardless of which conference they were in.

I also don't think the gap has been that large over the past few seasons. Its really widened this season though, thanks to the bot encouraging everyone to tank.

The gap isn't as large as it was during the Coolcats era though...

There hasn't been a bot in a while thats why...

Before when I came to the ABBL there was 3 consecutive bots I think (all in the big 8 as well).
CoolCats, HP Tigers and Canberra Crushers.

The bot in the conference definitely changes the dynamics.

And whitebeard just sold off a very good center right before the CUP finals... keep your eyes peeled on the TL for the next 2-3 days LOL

Not just the bot, but I think also WA/Whitebeard have been so good that teams don't think they have a chance to compete with them.

Yeah i took my shot at getting a cup title last year and missed out as i didn't think i could sustain the wages i needed for a title run against WB & WA.

Making some tidy coin this year but i still should be making more given i'm not having a crack at a title. Just can't bring myself to list Bergman at $0!

close your eyes and put him on the TL for 1 dollar and see what happens. I'm pretty sure he will go for heaps still.
