I suggest making him a SG who is also capable of playing SF if we use an outside offense. So maybe a level of rebounding, 2 levels of ID then onto his guard skills.

A brief update on the U21 teams progress for those of you who are not on the offsite forums

We've asembled what I think is a nice group of players together, who can hopefully get us to the world cup. Things are going along pretty well as planned so far, we are comfortably through to the 2nd round without dropping a game as yet. Thanks to all the managers of the players who have kept the players in good game shape so far.

I'll be looking to add some more players to the team, probably starting in a few weeks (we have a few spots free). For those with players on the fringe of selection, keep training your guys up, and feel free to update me on their progress. And make sure to keep your guys in good game shape ;)

Alright being relatively new to the whole game and all I think I fared pretty well with some of the auto-generated players given to me from the beginning. Just need some advise on where to head to in terms of training and what I could expect out of these guys.

Also concerning the U21 NT, what would be expected out of a player to be eligible to play in it?

Ariel Hanlon (13991789)
Center
DMI: 50900
Age: 18
Height: 7'0" / 213 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: strong

Jump Shot: pitiful Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: respectable
Driving: mediocre Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: strong Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: atrocious Free Throw: mediocre
Experience: atrocious

And

Steve McGuire (13991787)
Center
DMI: 48100
Age: 18
Height: 6'9" / 206 cm
Potential: MVP
Game Shape: strong

Jump Shot: atrocious Jump Range: atrocious
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: atrocious
Driving: mediocre Passing: mediocre
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: strong Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: average
Experience: atrocious

Currently I'm training IS for both players.
Anyway, cheers guys.

Work on inside defense for a couple of weeks, that's the hardest skill to train.

OMG yet another example of a completly stupidly good start up team. One 18 year old with reasonable potential and 5K starting salary would be insane, but to then get another one who plays the same position, 5K starting salary and has MVP potential...

This is so unfair on those teams that start with like one 18 year old who has 3K salary and 6th man potential and their best player is a 6K 32 year old.

Ok back on topic, you have two of the best startup players I have ever seen. Buy a level 4 trainer right away, train them single position with 48+ minutes every week and in a couple of seasons you will have two truly amazing players who may make the U21 team and one who could some day make the national team.

The worst is I spent the maximum on scouting last season knowing I would get a low pick. Having a level 6 trainer and already training a U21 SG, I figured I could use the bad result as an opportunity to get the next and improve on the things I learned from training Johnson...

With pick number 6 and max scouting, I got a player that I sold for the cost of 1 week of scouting. There was 2 guards in the draft that have any chance of being anything (picks 1 and 2) and judging by DMI and gameshape, one of them isn't even being trained! When I need a young tall in a season or 2, I will just pay top dollar on the market.
