The problem has effectively been solved for B3. The only competition for which it truly remains open is the national tournament.
I disagree.
The BBs have, in effect by changing the B3, admitted that this is a massive problem but have tackled it in the wrong way by changing the rules for for the B3 rather than tackling the actual problem. This totally proves the point that these salary monsters are effective players but their salaries are just way out of scale, which has the effect that they actually sell for way less than they should be worth.
This is still a massive problem for the cup and a cash'd up and savvy manager could probably hire one of these guys each week for the final few rounds and just resell them on the thursday night sometimes making a loss, sometimes a profit. I don't think it is a smart financial investment but if you want to win the cup badly enough why not? It would also help preserve the GS of your other players.
Do you really think someone facing a tough relegation series couldn't just hire one of these guys, win the series in two games going into a little debt then sell the player and avoid relegation?
Even a team fighting for promotion could do it. You are 4th seed having crept into the playoffs with a very cheap roster and saved cash all year. Hire two monsters for the next 3 weeks and NBBA here you come. Probably a good investment in the long run.
Can you imagine this happening in a real league?
