I think it works like this:

Driving - Insight of creating a chance for the player themselfs, going past you're opponnent
Handling - Controlling the ball, which is needed when driving, but also when receiving a pass and I think also when rebounding. I see handling as a ability which strengthens other abilities.

if you're going for a rebound, but can't control a ball, than the rebounding ability is less helpful.

The same goes for receiving a pass, it is less likely there will be a pass if you can't handle a ball

When having inside players, in a passing game the handling will be more important, when they have to create their own chance, the driving will be more important.

But that's all my theory, can't bring in any hard proof.

Well i never thought to make any research on HA/big men because, i am thinking the obvious. Less HA=more TO, maybe there is something more, but i dont know.

Just going to point out an error. Extremely high shotblocking does not lead a huge difference in blocked shots. I know of a couple players with Legendary or near-Legendary SB that average between 2-3 SB's a game.

@ smedlock:
You are very wrong. The Hellas NT has this guy (5844551) as a starting PF. I've seen his skills and in my opinion he is in the Top-10 PFs in the world. His low salary (only $115 000 for a BigMan) is a bonus too so he couldn't be a trouble for a First Division team to have him. Another great Big Man that Greece has is [9424972]. Great secondaries! So, Matzios has no place in the team...

From the Game Manual:
Handling: Allows the player to avoid losing the ball to the opposing defense while dribbling. Important against a pressing defense (to be added later) or, in general, against good perimeter defense. Teams with good handling will have more success at creating quality shot opportunities.
Driving: Allows the player to create his own shot without a good pass from a teammate. Better driving creates shots more often and creates better shots on average.
So, a BigMan with high HD but low DV will create better shots and won't turn the ball over often. However, a BigMan with low HD but high DV will take more (and generally good) shots but will turn the ball over a lot.
