I completly agree. In the NBA every single team can afford Kobe AND LeBron. In BB no team could afford to keep two of those top best possible players on their roster long term. This is unrealistic. Since when do the best players just bounce around every week? How long has Kobe been with the Lakers? How long was Lebron with the Cavs? A lot more than these guys who we see being sold all the time because the tier 2 teams can't afford them and the tier 1 teams are smart enough to know that they aren't worth it.

Cutting the top possible salaries to around 300k as suggested would be an excellent move and it can be done in two ways, first by reducing the salary caps for those top 4 categories (which I think would actually put up the value of HoF and ATG players) as well as changing the salary formula for those super-elete players so they never could get to salaries of $500,000-$1,000,000.

Slightly related: the utter flood of free agents this season has caused a massive crash in the costs of players especially big men. It would be great to see them turned off. I know some teams have given up on training altogether as it just isn't worth it at the moment in their opinion.

Shouldn't the best players in the game be highly desirable and playing in the top leagues?

Are you saying Bosh isn't much more?

This "not much more" was still enough for a bunch of championship teams in the past and I think it would be great to have the chance to compete either with a superstar focussed (Miami Heat) or balanced team (maybe the Celtics can be put in this category)

Maybe could be enough to do from teams a twisted joint stock company. So if you acumulate any money at the end of the season, shareholders will get a cut from them, because they can take these money as a "profit".

The cut could be done by percentage, so would motivate you to spend these money before there will be this shareholders payment. And this cut would increase with your financial turnover.

So if you get from TV, merchandise and attendance every week 500k, theirs cut could be 30 percent. If it would be 1000k, the cut would be 60 percent.

I mention 1000k turnover, because while is impossible to cumulate a bigger cash, because shareholders will cut you down if you have any, you can get better income every week with that, to afford such a players.

Luc Longley as a starting center was good for a couple of championships.

Just checked the Miami Roster and there are some other options at C, Ilgauskas and Magloire should have some value there...
