to be honest im not sure what my goals are
deep cup run? strong league run?
i didnt plan this far ahead, and i got a lot of my maths wrong.
Looks like im gonna go into debt before the end of the season even if i go very deep in the cup

sigh what to do???

So your starting to stress a little bit that soon you will start owing a little bit of money, hell from memory in Season 15 I owed about 2 mill the Sunday on which the 3rd final was played and despite winning I would have been declared bankrupt the next day only some one brought my PF a couple of hours after that last game.

And whilst I wasnt spruiking poison, I must admit that I lied through my teeth when I started boasting on the forums before the finals, that I was looking to buy another beast when I was actually in debt.

Live dangerously, invest in another 100K a week player today just so you can fool us that you have lots of money.

Mental note to myself about plans for the next couple of weeks;
The plan is to .....

He could be messing with your mind just so that he can break it when he buys a few more players to demonstrate to you how much money he really has.

Mind you if there was evidence that he was starting to leak blood (money) then I wonder how many other teams apart from yourself, would change gear and make a run for promotion.

I have Northcote Slammers and Hadder both away from home, either side of my clash against the Fab 4 (Akuma).

Maybe if I was sure Akuma was going to sell off, I might be best to try and win the away games and sacrifice the game against Akuma (not that I could beat him anyway)

could be messing with me?

I dont think anyone has posted a serious comment about their plans for their team in about 2 weeks.

I find it utterly fascinating the way you type Sid. the effort you go to, to put things in bold, quote other people, use italics. its like i can hear you bellowing "FABBBBBBBBBBBBB 4444444444444444444444444" in some big announcers voice.

hahaha all this banter is certainly making this season very very interesting.

i am so curious what everyones plans are - especially HA. Is he gonna tank once he secures a safe non-relegation spot? or is he gonna buy up at the end of the season? my bet is he's gonna buy up. It would be hilarious if he bought up just before i sell up hahahaha

My 8 nil record grossly flatters the capabilities of my team.

Even if you sold off I would still have to buy up to beat several other teams and or discourage them from buying up.

That said if I sold off 2 or 3 of my older players this season I could certainly buy some very capable younger ABBL standard players, when ever they hit the market and who would at the end of next season compliment my 3 developing SFs to allow my team to be quite competitive in the ABBL in season 25.

That said if I thought I could win this season Id probably push for it and already I have enough money for such a player and will certainly be even more cashed up by the end of the season regardless of what I do

I took a voluntary package at the end of last year and sadly have too much time on my hands at the moment

No rush like I say I have several players to sell at some stage and have good positive cash flow and already have enough money in the sky rocket

Just had a quick calculation, without touching the younger Aussie 6 or 7 core players in my team I still have between 2 and 2.5 mill worth of sales to make at some stage before the end of next season, even in a depressed market

And even without making any sales I already have enough money for a key long term ABBL standad acquisition should one i really like turn up on the market tomorrow

for me, the tough thing would to be in Sid's shoes.

in the last two seasons, teams have promoted, when he could have simply bought up and won the league and promoted, he was in a sufficient ladder position and has enough cash or at least players to sell and then buy, to have won both seasons.

For me, watching two opportunities pass by without making a move would be a very hard pill to swallow.

Its a luxury at the same time though
And im not taking anything away from Windies or Sundae, they both won fair and square, but at the end of the day, if im sitting here with millions in the bank or millions in player talent that i could sell, and buy up to win the league, and i choose not to..... then it begs the question of would I be able to handle a third season of watching someone else promote when I could simply buy up and promote?
End of this season his two trainee's salaries will probably pop to about $40k-ish, so thats gonna add another $40k-ish total to his expenses - not enough to worry him I wouldnt think - so he could comfortably sit here in Div II again until end of next seasons expenses wise

problem is - is that we have all seen what Crockers did to Vios back in season 19. So if Sid passes by an easy opportunity to promote again this season - then next season, another 'Crockers' scenario happens, you would be ruing 3 potential opportunities to promote and money lost.
The bigger problem for Sid is that EVERYONE knows the above situation and can plan for (or for those will evil-ness in them) plan against this.

the plot thickens.................

Promoting to the ABBL is not such a big deal for me as ive done it twice before and spent a bit of time up there.

However for someone like yourself or Team Akuma who hasnt been there before i can imagine how important it would be to you.

I made the decision to demote from the ABBL and by buying up 18 year olds and opting to train them in single position, i consciously made a decision to stay out of the ABBL

Awesome and Windies are both extremely good managers and fact was i couldnt beat Windies last season with his home court advantage unless i had of sold players who i didnt want to sell.

Given im training mostly IS skills this season to my 3 trainees and most of their existing salaries would have been from their outside skills i cant imagine any of my SF trainees being worth more than 20k per week.

If i had of promoted in the last 2 seasons i wouldnt have been competitive and would have just dropped back albeit with another 6 or so mill.

Dont forget about the other 3 or so experienced managers and the 2 ex ABBLers who are all very capable.

Everyone is just waiting to see if the FAB 4, falls over financially, before deciding whether or not to "push their chips" in
