I think it is rather reasonable to get paid for services/entertainment rendered. There is no competitive advantage gained by allowing the user base to generate player names, but it does strike me as something a good portion of people would be love to pay for. This is something I think BB should really focus on. Revenue generating ideas that collect on an annual or semi annual basis. Utopia is great. Every March, you guys paid the bank account. This is good for the game.
Name generation could be as simple as a drop down box for that user's country name database. Yeah you will get the immature Harry Johnson names but nothing within the existing database comes across as overly raunchy.
Now here is my idea that generates revenue deposits three times a year. For a small fee, say $1, you can name your incoming draft class. Each team has three or four draft classes in a calendar year. I know there are probably a lot of users that are like me and have supported the game for actual years. I even renew Utopia each year even though I am only somewhat into that. I also believe with the ability to name your incoming draft class you will promote more investment into the draft. This would remove some money from the game helping with the current inflation on the TL and actually encourage more managers to train. I know if I got a nice trainee, named him after myself, I would probably want to make him a pretty decent player.
This got a little long winded but I just felt there are a lot of secondary benefits to explore both for BB and for the community.
