Guess he's preparing his team for next season. No doubt he's saved a bundle this season and probably saw an offer he could not refuse!

In I don't know how many seasons now, I have never got a good player from the draft. It is rubbish. The day after draft day the first thing I usually do is sack 3 people posing as players they tried to add to my roster.

I think in the early years as our teams were all weaker a draftee (will perennial allstar potential) could come in and play straight away. Now that our teams are all better the draftees dont have the skills to make the team. To seriously train a draftee now you need to set a weaker roster where as early on it didn't affect the strength of your team so much.

I think some people are just more lucky than others. Here are some of my better draft picks:

Season 10
Kent Masters (12019972)
Point Guard
Owner: Chelsea Seagulls
Weekly salary: $ 20 711
Age: 24
Height: 6'7" / 201 cm
Potential: perennial allstar

Greg Kneale (12019998)
Point Guard
Weekly salary: $ 17 827
Age: 23
Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: starter

Season 11
Hasmawi Mahmood (13436089)
Center
Weekly salary: $ 77 820
Age: 22
Height: 6'9" / 206 cm
Potential: perennial allstar

Wazza Tickle (13436121)
Point Guard
Weekly salary: $ 17 961
Age: 22
Height: 6'3" / 190 cm
Potential: starter
For sale for $1,200,000 right now.

Season 12
Peni Lucas (14843945)
Point Guard
Weekly salary: $ 15 726
Age: 21
Height: 6'7" / 201 cm
Potential: superstar

Since then the well has been a bit dry as I have had late picks and the new system means the good players are much easier to identify. There have also been a couple of seasons in division II when there just wasn't much in the draft. So I do like the draft and it can be good. I am basically a PF short of having a team that could win some games in division II just with my draft picks.

keep in mind that if you had kept them, theres no way you can train them all together.

I was pretty lucky last season, won the title, had the worst pick and came away with one of the best picks!

Weekly salary: $ 3 455
Role: backup
(BuzzerBeta)

DMI: 16500
Age: 18
Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: superstar

Now he isn't anywhere near good enough to play, and he won't be good enough for another 2-3 seasons either...so yeah draftees in this division are pretty useless for most of you. But for me, a gold draftee this season will be VERY useful in my attempt at either returning to the divison, or strengthening my side and consolidating.

I'm hoping to get someone to train up as a shooting guard.

I just regret all the potential superstars that came through my team, in the years that they seemed to be abundant in drafts. They could have been awesome but I had no direction or knowledge how to train them. I've put a lot of work into my current 20yo trainee Ostolaza and he's still 2-3 seasons from getting to where I invisioned him 3 seasons a go.

I have not even bothered with the draft since the new system came in, maybe this season i'll fluke something worth keeping. Not that I have room to train anyone anyway.

But if you happen to be the shock relegation from reds this season, you will have a lot of space to train, cos you won't be able to play your team the way it stands now in div III! :P

Not that I believe you are any chance of demoting!

Myself on the other hand, I'm worried now I have overbought, and won't be able to afford these guys next season. Especially with the penalty to crowds after demotion.

Someone with more experience than I, would have to tell me what I could expect in terms of income in divIII after demotion.
