Whichever way you look at it the fact is the so called unbalance between guard and big men salaries is now factored in. It would really take a radical change of events to alter this + the resulting effect it would have on the transfer market (which as we know is an area that BB's definitely don't want to tinker with)

So, lets just continue to bemoan the difference between what constitutes the best starting 5 and as we witnessed in last seasons BB3 we all know what big men we'd choose with unlimited resources... lets then sit back and await the first manager who can lay down a team of completely balanced guys or a team of uber shot blockers or any team for that matter with more salary efficient players that actually can defeat a team of bohemoths when it counts.

Until that stage, lets all try to own Silves and players like him for a week and who knows, by his 500th club we might get a BB come out and say its a problem we think needs looking into

Maybe it doesn't register as a problem right now because from the commentary it seems anyone in the player database is capable of a double double so why pay that much of a premium for one!

Fantastic post. I'm only really quoting it so I can see it again. Well, and bold the best part.

Until this happens, at least at the very top rung of the competitive ladder, the game is broken.

I really think this suggestion is the one thing that could help buzzerbeater more than anything else, and even in real life players in the NBA have contract limits. Please please implement this

He's just kinda mad cause this is something that could actually help BB a LOT, and if it got locked it would fade away. I honestly think this could change the game dramatically for the better on all levels

I really like your logo, it is cool. It will be interesting to see if again this offseason there will be more "tweaking" of the formula to make those monsters a little more affordable.

I couldn't agree more.

Rather than bumping a thread with just bump. Please post something that helps find a solution. I fel that this is a large issue that needs some attention from the community as well as the BB's, but adding input is far better than adding "BUMP".

All I would ask of everyone is to help in suggesting a possible solution rather than just shouting "fix it".

I see a few issues that could potentially cause major issues. If suddenly the big men have a salary reduction down to a reasonable level, their transfer value could go way up. This obviously would create some unfair transfer and cause issues unless there was a notice previous to the actual salary drop. For example today you can buy a 400k/week big man for around 1 million. If his salary were to drop to say 200k in the off season this player now becomes alot more valuble and could sell for roughly 2.5-3. bviously that is an unfar advantage that should be avoided. The way to do that is by communicating with us what is going to happen in advance of it actually happening.

I think the only way to implement this effectively is alter the potential system so that tri-skilled/poorly trained big men cap out earlier. However, I don't agree this would be progress, it would just be dumbing down future player development.

Fact is, some players have developed dumbly and some managers want this dumb training rewarded instead of it being (correctly) punished economically. I still maintain my position that those playes 500k+ aren't the equivalent of NBA players, they are the equivalent of ten foot tall aliens from the planet Zog (where everyone can dunk and nobody has fun).

I also find it a bit rich that players who claim hiring salary monsters is ok because it's in the rules moan that when it's not in the rules, nothing's actually been fixed. Rubbish. I would like to see the B3 rule more widely implemented in national tournaments.

I'm not so sure the current playoff deadline needs changing.
