Down 10 already. Dont know what went wrong. They did go inside yet they are on pace for 70 points at HT. What happened to defense?

Hong Kong up by 19. We might be pretty much out of the tournament after today despite great start (will have to beat Hong Kong by a lot to get through on PD)

Shit. This went pretty much as badly as it could. We lost with Finland Equal effort, same tactics. They are just a better team. But that still wasnt bad and there was still an option to get to 2nd round with 2-1 record. Unfortunately Hong Kong wasnt able to hold on to huge lead against France and lost in OT.

Had they won, then all that was needed was to have Czech Republic beat Finland by more than we would beat Hong Kong. Then Finland and South Africa drop out and we go on looking pretty with 2-1 record with some shot at semis.

We were just 1 point away from that.

unfortunately, since thats not the case, we are not getting to the semis. Just to add injury to an insult, Hong Kong played TIE against France so even getting to the 2nd round will be really hard.

I really screwed up thi tournament it turns out. Yes, we are 2nd weakest team in group as proven by this game, but we had realistic chance of getting through and looking pretty for 2nd round had I not blew the game against France or if I took more risk with GDP in this one.
It was our only chance and its on me. Sorry guys

edit: Quick observation:

Their PG and SG combined: 21-28
Rest of the team: 27-57

We need to have players with better secondary skills. Guards with less than 12-13 ID shouldnt have place on a team. Thats what the project that oversees training of our best prospects has to achieve. It also helps cut the salaries of players so I dont think many people would oppose

Thanks, appreciate the kind words. In theory we could still advance, but we would have to beat Hong Kong, USA, Slovensko, and Srbija. I dont know just how likely that is, especially since HK TIE'd France (boy, they really screwed us up with this choice). Their win against France on normal and we would be golden.

Btw, I editied my last post adding observations.

Thanks. It was a close one but you always had it under control. Quality is not there for our side yet and wont be for next couple of seasons. After that watch out though! We will see how it goes against Hong Kong. They TIEd France....if only the normalled and won i would be a happy camper...
Right now it wont be easy beating them.

They (HK) showed tonight they are no joke. That was really weird game anyway. Think that was last time France will use motion

It was a weird one. And we only needed France to lose by 1 point to still have a shot at something special. So close...

Anyway, If You and France advance with 2-1 Record with Czech and Canada advancing with 1-2, it wont be terrible. Still need to figure out a way how to beat Hong Kong being an underdog again

Nothing you could do about that. No offensive choice would've been better for us, and, at least in theory, a double GDP guess on defence was way too risky. In retrospect, we could've missed both GDP and had a much better defensive effort if they played a different offence. No idea why look inside exists.

Crazy how guards tear us up. Last time I looked (France or w/e) opponent's training didn't compare inside or out against our top scoring guard, and yet our dude never has games like that. Meh.

Not sure how fair it is to say we can't compete. Hall at SF and Stronks at guard is far-and-away our top LI team. We couldn't play that due to Hall's GS and thus had much worse LI guards and SF offensively and worse defence at guard.

Because of Hall being useless we couldnt compete. And now even if his situation gets better next season, we are just too old. 3 skilll drops this week alone. If Hall was at strong GS.....well, one can only guess what would happen. Or if Hong Kong played normal and beat France.... But no reason to speculate now. we need to do the best we can in remaining game (games?) and try to advance even though we are the 5th team in our group when it comes to player strength just to get couple more matches with quality opposition.

Its over man, this tournament is (well, after yesterda was) our last chance to make some noise for a while.
We need to concentrate on training future stars the proper way.
Thats why I want to thank everyone that signed up and take care of our trainees by contacting their managers and making sure their receive training. Also want to thank managers who take care of their NT players as well as cooperate with guys when it comes to training ones.
I hope to keep that program going for a long time, even if not as NT manager. Also plan to train some Canadian guys myself, sell most of my players, buy a stud trainee and then hopefully get one more through draft.

Seems a lot of teams have plans for training Canadians. I hope to get involved in it too. No help in sight for our current NT and having to replace guys, though.

If a decent number of HOF+ players get drafted by human teams in the next few seasons, Canada could own the season 40's... but damn that is a long time away.
