i think this is because one has to do with where you are in the standings, and one to do with what the result of the last game was.
maybe not.. the fan spirit calculation was changed but that was part of a different set of changes charles was doing, so i'll let him speak to what might be going on here.
this might be something to do with it being strange at the beginning of the season and it will iron itself out quickly.
