Well, I did read the Game Manual (thanks for thinking I was stupid enough not to do that) and
I did follow all the links and
I still have a very limited concept of oh say
what a 2 Position vs a 3 Position strategy
I have a basic idea, but, still
it would be kinda nice to be able to oh say
search for it and find the link(s) where this is discussed without having
to go thru pages to find it
but,
that being said and all
there is something to be said for the actual asking of
actual questions

thanks

2 position vs a 3 position strategy?

Do you mean 2-3 zone or something? You could always ask for a tutor or something in the tutoring thread I think...

Sorry if I sounded demeaning in any way. I assure you, it wasn't my intention.
What I meant to say is that the Game Manual has A LOT of info in it that isn't readily sunken in because newer people aren't accustomed to the game yet. So what worked for me was to read through it two or three times and then play around with everything on the site and ask specific questions when I couldn't find the answers to them. You'll also find that new players get supporter features for a while. So you can search the forums if you choose (though I agree, I don't think the search function is really up to par with other forums I attend).

There isn't really a step by step manual that I'm aware of at the moment, the closest guide is still the game manual but if there are specific areas you might need help in I suggest maybe looking at the sticky topics such as "Important THREADS" (22302.1) if you haven't already have which should give you more detail into areas you aren't unsure of before.

its a game... geez step by step strategy.... do you want 100000 ppl to play the game the same way? dont think so, then go get a mentor if you need help. if not explore the game for urself and learn as you go.

No, SplitJ, I do not wish to see 100,000 people play the game the same way.

However, just like any game, even real life, live action basketball, there tends to be accepted ways and strategies as to how to best win.

As this game does a good job of showing, there are really on 5-6 basic offenses and defenses in basketball, so, actually
a whole lot of people are playing it the same way.

Perhaps, I made my original post cover too broad of an area. What I mainly had in mind was more like:

"Is there a thread or something somewhere that gives more information on training strategy than the game manual does?"

When you start a new game and you see all sorts of unfamiliar terms and acronyms, I don't think it's entirely unreasonable to ask if there is anything that defines and expands on such things as "2 Position Training" or "TIE" (although I must admit, Captain Obvious eventually showed up for the second example).

Also, I'm not trying to be a whiner, and will gladly read through the whole forum if need be, but, in all seriousness,
instead of doing all that, don't you think it makes just a tad more sense, to ask about it first?

Burninators, I apologize for my snide remarks. I wish I could offer a better explanation other than I was just being a touchy little bitch, but I can't.

Hey SplitJ. have you actually read anything past my original post?

I read the manual.....several times.

And, actually did you even read the original post in it's entirety?

gives someone step by step (relatively, anyway) advice on what to do?

These forums do not appear very search-friendly and, while it does not appear impossible,
picking up on things is very piecemeal, at best.

You do understand what the word relative means don't you, in the context of the first post, at least?

Also, I would tend to think that the sentence quoted above that mentions "these forums", acknowledges the
fact that all this stuff can be found in the forums, but the forums themselves are not all that search-friendly,

om·pen·di·um (km-pnd-m)
n. pl. com·pen·di·ums or com·pen·di·a (-d-)
1. A short, complete summary; an abstract.
2. A list or collection of various items.

I believe that's what I was asking about. In some games, some with way more than, geez,
100000 people playing, some of those that play have went and made one or more of these
compendium type things.

In my last post, I stated that I have no problem with going thru the entire forums, if need be.
However, I fail to see how asking if something of the nature of a compendium exists, is somehow wrong or whatever
character failing you seem to think I have.

Please don't reply by telling me for the third time to read the game manual.

JMDCeltics: Thank you. Between having a wife who was a French major, living in the American southwest for several years and what I can remember from high school Latin, I actually got quite a bit out of that link. :)
