Depending on their potentials, player 2 would probably net you more money. Then again, if Player 1 is an exceptionally talented A+ (A+ can go up to all stats in respectable IIRC) rating, he could possibly be worth more. However, these are all variables. If you're looking to improve your team right now, pick up Player 1. If you're willing to spend a bit more time developing, Player 2 is the one for you. It's a tossup.

But surely I could train the B grade 18 year old to a higher level by the time he is 19 than what your A+ 19 year old is going to start with?

I agree a A+ has the potential to be pretty special.

As Naker said though a season of training can bring a 18 year old trainee close, but it is really difficult to be sure. To get an 18 year old close you would have to train them in multiple skills which makes it a real struggle.

An 18 years old 5ball potential A-
A 18 years old 3ball potential A+
A 19 years old 3ball potential A+
An 18 years old 4ball potential B+

which one will you pick first and last?

As a single pos trainer I disagree w/ Koz. With proper single position training and a 5 trainer you can get 10+ pops during that 18 y/o year. Each rookie I have had I have gotten 14, 12, 12, and 11 pops during that first year. I think that with those essential pops you get a much better players. There is a reason most NT's don't even bother scouting 19 y/o draftees.
