Yes, it is true that one is allowed to be $ 500,000 in the red, but with a negative balance you're not allowed to bid for players, are you?

And how will a fresh new starter in the game be able to create new opportunities to win, which also includes to be able to buy players in order to fill up gaps which one is NOT training for instance, when prizes are being speculated to such high numbers? So he/she has to hold on and keep training and wait for the best draft position, which means by being last (!), and continue the next season and so on. The matter is, how many (newbie) BB-players are willing to bring up such patience?

Please, don't get me wrong. The game is awesome, otherwise I wouldn't be paying to become a supporter. I just pity the ones how just registered and after a couple of weeks find out, that it is kinda "hard" to "survive" in the game.

'Cos if you want to do it "right" you start "spending" on a good trainer, do some scout work, and experiment with training positions, right? In a (much) lower division your income on attendance is not that high, while you have to pay the salaries. And with 100 grand, most of us won't get very far, do we? Of course, some would say that is bad management, but....you know, the chances are just very slim for a newbie, that's all. And to be honest, I don't really have a solution for those how does have to feeling I'm describing.

That's why I'm saying that BB is meant for select group of players. The ones who are that good to play right from the bottom and manages to climb up, even when it will take them 8 to 10 seasons to reach division 1, or maybe longer.

Again, I am NOT complaining!! Just telling people (BB-players) that there are newbies, who might need a little "help". And I am pretty sure that there are people out there who feels the same way as I do......

But you are playing in 2nd division: seems too high for a newbie, it's normal your opponents are better than you...
On the other hand you have lot's of money from TV invest it well and buy good trainees and next year division III may not be so hard ;)

Well, as I am a first shift player who didn't daytrade, (look at my transfers, only bought two players and never sold one), and despite that fact, I manage to do more than just survive in the Canadian I.1. I made the semifinals and only lost because I didn't manage my enthusiasm correctly. I got some decent trainees and trained them up. I also realize that although the building process is slow, but who would want it to be fast?

How fun would it be if you could bring your team to basically NBA levels in less than a season? Sure there would be more parity, but it would essentially become a game of luck (when to TIE, when to CT, injuries to star player). It wouldn't be as satisfying imo. The main problem is that the game is in the beginning throes and as such new teams still start in higher leagues where there are amazing teams, above average teams and mediocre teams. Once the game has played through something like 8 or 9 seasons, the teams in each country's top league will be at roughly the same level and the newbies will start at the fourth or fifth division level, where there will be better teams, but level will be closer to that of newbies.

Hattrick is just as slow to develop a good team and possibly even harder to maintain a solid economy of a new team when you consider the trainees you have to buy. the solid trainer you have to hire to make sure your trainees actually get training and the fact that you don't really get anything from the players on your new thing. Here the players of a new team could still be sold for a decent amount of money.

Anyways, I can understand that getting whomped 150 to 45 can be boring, but after building your team for a few seasons and playing that team in the tournament and beating them has more satisfaction than, say, à la cybertennis, where if you train for 8-9 CT weeks, you basically reach the star level of everybody else and after that it's all luck (some skills in determining tactics maybe, but not that much really)

I get where you're coming from, but I disagree, I think the fun is in the longer building period.

I totally agree with Martin tho. It is much nicer to play BB as it should be. By putting afford on building up ones team and not spending all time on trading. That's all! Like a good fellow Dutch guy, who's playing also, mentioned to me onces. It will take time for a team to build and it is much more fun building it.

The real reason to start this thread is to let people know/realize that BB it's a game to for people who wants to put in time and effort to build and not a game for some speculators (traders) to boost up the prizes....
I'm sure that there are other online investment games than BB.

I started playing after game one of last season. Got my team sold some players and bought a few new ones. Changed my training regime after getting my new trainees which two where good (I won the league and playoffs so I pulled last) and lost my two first games after promoting to div II. Now top of the conference and looking to build from there.

You just described the profile of any player that wants to play a manager style game. If the newbie starts BB and thinks it's too hard because it takes too much time to build a strong team he will feel the same with all manager games. If they want something quick and that doesn't take much time just play the regular "you control the players and edit their abilities as you wish" games.

The only problem for newbies, and I can say that because I am one, is that the only way for a newcomer to get profit is to sell good players, and with the inflation, due to the game being new and all, it's hard to buy good trainees...

I started in the middle of last season, my team was really old in average. Only in the start of this season I got to buy some trainees and not good ones, just average. And that because I sold my best old players from the last season.

As you all can see I started last season myself. I got promoted thanks to the fact that of "bot-sweeping".

Now I'm competing in the Dutch 2nd division. And So far so good, I would say.

I have not sell bought players that much...

Think it is very easy to kepp up with the economy, as long with the TV games you increase your account a bit.

then after first player sell you get a lot of money.

wait, and have patience...thats the main skill you have in manager games....LA Lakers wasnt builded up in 3 months

after one season i made 600K for a guy.
have 4-5 guys left, bought a 1 mille PF/SF that I will train some.

when I sell next guy I make 1 mille more.

Well, I think the problem is you have no good prospects. If you do training right you can get some decent money. As you can see, I've made 1.3 mil over the last one and a half seasons. If I didn't buy new, better prospects, I would have made even more than that (roughly 2 mil). Now, I have 1.3 mil in the bank and 3 good prospects. There's no need to DT.... I could upgrade my other players but atm, there's no need to.
