The Projected Development section is just one example of a training program. For Paul Coffey Farley, one training approach I like would look something like this:

At the start of Age 20 (17 weeks from now):

Jump Shot: strong (+1) Jump Range: awful
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: inept
Driving: average Passing: atrocious
Inside Shot: prolific (+3) Inside Def.: prolific (+3)
Rebounding: prolific (+4) Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: average Free Throw: average

With a level 5 trainer, and single position training (for the IS and ID weeks), those skill levels looks attainable to me. One approach could be to train rebounding up to prolific (2 position training), and then bump up IS and ID after that (with single position training). The JS pop would be secondary training off of IS, which should happen eventually if you train his IS for awhile.

At the start of Age 21 (i.e. age 20 development)

Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: awful
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: inept
Driving: average Passing: atrocious
Inside Shot: tremendous (+2) Inside Def.: tremendous (+2)
Rebounding: tremendous (+2) Shot Blocking: strong (+1)
Stamina: average Free Throw: average

Single position IS and ID training would continue for most of the season, with a shot blocking pop happening off of secondary training from ID. Rebounding gets bumping up another couple of levels at the end of the season, or whenever it works well to fit it in.

During the Age 21 season, the IS/ID/RB core could continue to grow, perhaps up to triple marvellous. There would also be the option to switch to guard skills development (JS, passing, etc.), which would help round out his game (while also controlling salary a bit in the short term).

That's one general outlook for him, in any case.

Castro is moving a bit faster than most big men I've seen. It's possible to go even faster than Castro, it's just rare, and requires some special circumstances (high starting skills, very rigorous training, high trainer level, etc.).

The best inside skills I've seen on a Canadian big man at the start of age 20 was IS=15, ID=13, RB=13. Most prospects just aren't going to develop that quickly, but it can be done.

Bottom Master has a 19 year old prospect named David Castro (16416234). That's who we were randomly talking about there. :P

How are Castro's secondaries? He has limited potential, so there may be merit in rounding him out rather than continuing to push his inside skills to the point that he hits his cap at 20 years old. Just a thought.

That's great to see his rebounding move quickly. :)
