GL Jason. And if you don't win this time, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future.

Thanks for the encouragement Shannon :-)

1. Success with their own personal team and an understanding of the game, and BuzzerBeater as a whole.

I am not going to spend a lot of time on this section, because it’s been well documented; and the last thing I want to do is appear to be narcissistic! (Just kidding Rambo, having a little fun!).

I started in this game on April 23rd 2010. April 24th was the first game in franchise history for me. With 1 second left in the opening quarter my opponent the BullDawgs, made a 3 pointer to go up 29-8. However, we took the inbounds pass, and in that second threw up a one handed heave from beyond half court that went in! My team ran off the court celebrating, jumping up and down, not even considering the fact that we still trailed by 18 points in just 12 minutes of action. However, that desperation heave marked a turning point for my just born franchise, as 3 quarter later, the comeback was complete and we walked off as 87-75 winners!! That set the tone for the season, as we went 14-0, and then 4-0 in the playoffs to easily win the championship and promote!

I then arrived in what was regarded as the toughest league in DIV. I showed up with my 74K payroll, and looked around at the teams with 150-175K; including a couple that were over 200K. I have to admit, I thought game over! However, after nearly beating a quality team on the road to start the season, and then winning at home, and following that up with a cup win on the road over a DIII team, and a road league win over a team that had a payroll that was more than 100K above mine, I started to become a believer in my own approach to building a roster. I started to recognize that not only did I have ideas on what it took build a team, and blend it to appropriate tactics, but those ideas were working on the court as well!

In one forum post that season, it was said “Jason knows how to do more with less, than any other team in the league!” Since then, it’s been more of the same. I have beaten multiple 500K plus payroll teams with my small salaried roster (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/23605/players.aspx). I have beat teams in the MBBA, I have beat some of the top DII teams in the USA.I won my league IV championship in that brutal DIV league over a team that dwarfed my payroll. I won my DIII championship a few weeks ago defeating a team, that is as unorthodox as they come!

In truth, I don’t say all of this to satisfy some narcissistic tendency, or because I want to brag to you right now. My point is, I know how to blend ratings, with tactics, I know how to build a team, in which I don’t hide the tactics I am playing; and despite that, my team smashes even the tactics that should slow us down.

In 4.5 seasons, I have gone from D5 to DII. And understand, this isn’t because I am some sort of a BB guru. From day one, the #1 team (at that time) in the USA was my mentor. I have also had significant input from other top 15 USA coaches. Namssor has indeed had success with his team, and he questioned how I could be prepared to coach players with these elite ratings, when I have never done so before. Well, let me ask you all a question….What’s more impressive, beating teams with 100K+ players with 100K+ players, or beating teams with 100K + players with a roster that that has a 70K, 40K, and nobody else over 27K?

I just hope you all understand that what my team proves that I am ready for this. What my team has accomplished proves that I have an understanding of how the ratings work and how to construct a roster combined with the right tactics, to get significantly more out of team, than it appears on paper than it really should.

2. Community involvement and project organizing ability.

As you read through this section, I would ask that you consider the following quotes from Coco and Jelme. What I am going to suggest, is that the Community building aspect of this job, may actually be the most important part, and the reason I think you should actually give more credibility to this, than any of the other categories I am speaking on. I ask you to consider these quotes simply for context.

Coco: “I agree that the choice between Jason and Namssor is not as substantial as some people take it to be. The NT will need a couple of truly elite big men. If it gets them, it will be competitive and, assuming decent game shape, the manager has relatively little room to screw it up (e.g. by mismanaging enthusiasm). If it doesn't get them, neither Jason nor Namssor will be able to do better than what we achieved, and it won't be their fault. I'm somewhat confident that neither of them will screw things up.”

Jelme: “I'm not sure what you are asking for? You can discuss NT stuff wherever you wish. @Smedlock If Jason is willing to listen and take in information he'll be fine. I'm pretty sure everyone involved will help out and at this stage knowledge/experience is almost trivial. We have enough accumulated through the program. The NT coach is a figurehead and the biggest job is delegation and building the community. Jason is the better person for that job. I've interacted with him before and he has always been super helpful and VERY responsive.”

I want to make it clear up front that although I believe that the community building aspect of this job is the most important aspect of the job, I am not saying that to diminish the importance of the NT coach managing the team, choosing tactics and strategies. The reason I believe this is simple. As you know, the NT coach has scouts, tactical advisors, number crunchers etc. that analyze all of the data needed to set tactics and strategy. Everything from game shape, roster choices, tactics, call ups etc. is discussed in the offsite forum. Ultimately the final decisions are of course up to the NT coach, but that said, if the NT coach were choosing crazy abnormal strategies that were not good for the team, this would be abundantly clear. Like the above quotes show, the NT coach, whether it’s me despite the lack of hands on NT experience, or Namssor and all of the experience he brings, the discussions and strategy sessions will be the same. The encouragement, support, help, and assistance will all be the same. The guidance and direction that the NT community and staff offers, will be the same regardless of who is the NT coach. Just know that despite my emphasis on the importance of the community building, I am more than capable of making the tactical and NT team strategy decisions as well. I will go into that later. But I will have input, guidance and help just like Namssor would.

So, why do I feel that the community building aspect of this job makes me the perfect candidate? Running the national team, is largely a group effort. Again, the NT coach makes final decisions, but the staff, and the offsite NT community contributes thoughts and ideas to this. If I do not win this election, and am invited to be part of the staff, I would in a heartbeat. And I would love to help Jfarb continue his efforts in this regard. But I think we all know, that my efforts to grow the NT community and encourage people to do things for the benefit of the NT team, will carry significantly more weight and impact if I am the actual NT coach, versus just being part of the staff. As Jfarb has built this community he has spent tireless hours speaking to encouraging people to do things for the benefit of the team that were in many cases counterproductive for the team owner’s individual team.

2. Community involvement and project organizing ability. Continued.....

But as the NT coach, and the person guiding this mission, he was in a position to encourage things like this, and motivate, because he was the guiding force behind the plan. Jfarb has had much assistance and help behind the scenes in building the community, but in the end, it was his word, and his actions that helped grow this community to where it is. And it’s not just the community of people participating on the offsite forum, or people taking an interest and caring about our National Team. It’s his ability and determination to get owners of US players to train them a certain way, to build power house players, and not let them go to less capable individuals. My point to all of this is not to keep touting Jfarb, but to tie this into the very things I do already. Now, for perspective, clearly the things I do in the community are not near as beneficial as guiding and directing people to build players that are going to bring home the Gold.

But understand, I have spent a lot of time, answering and sending BB-mails for various things. I built a Federation that has 105 people. Now, in truth, the Federation has largely grown on its own, but it’s been able to do that because of my initial efforts in laying the foundation. I just put together a Private League Network. To start, we have 60 teams in 6 different leagues! This was not easy to do! It took over a month to get make this happen. It required getting many who were anxious to join an available private league to wait weeks, even over a month for this one to start. It took building and assigning the leagues, and then delegating the responsibility to various team owners to create the leagues and set them up, and to be able to synchronize them together. My point is, I already know how to, and am prepared to do what it takes to motivate people to join this NT community, to help us build the best players in the world!

I was a Stock Broker for 6 years. I helped my clients buy investments in other companies. But I didn’t choose just any stock on the stock exchange. I actually took the time to contact CEO’s and CFO’s of these corporations and developed relationships with them. I was able to convince to fly to Phoenix and visit our office. I was able to convince them to value me as a guy that could build interest in their company and stock! That experience has helped me to become someone who knows how to bring people together for common interests. That experience has taught me how to motivate others to do things that can be beneficial for everyone involved, even if it requires extra effort, or sacrifice on the front end.

I am more prepared, and more determined than anyone else in this election to do just that! I am the one guy in this election who has the ability, to establish goals and projects and turn them into plans of action. Additionally, the network of people I have already developed relationships with, and even friendships with that include some of the best owners in this game, put me in a position to get some of the brightest minds in the USA to join our team and to help build the kind of players we need to be the best in the world!

You missed a serious candidate with a subserious campaign. Fatcurry. He may be the best qualified of all the candidates.

If he had any intention of being NT coach, I would be taking him more than seriously! I am glad he's just messing around by throwing his name into this :-)
