You don't have to tell me about statistics either ;)

What I'm saying is that two expansions that were estimated to last 16 days (combined) will last twice as much. I'm not sure how it works, is it that every day at the update there's sort of a coin flip that decides whether to remove a day from the remaining time? In any case, this expansion has been stuck at 6 days left for at least 5 days, so if the probability of not decreasing is P, then the probability of not decreasing 5 times in a row is P^5. If P is 1/2, this would be 1/32 ~ 3%. But it can't be anywhere near 1/2, because then expansions would never finish close to the estimates...

Exactly, me neither. As long as the BB's are saying it works as intended (and especially if we assume at least one of them has taken a look at the code to double check), we really need pretty good proof to show there is something fishy. A couple examples is no proof unless the errors are completely ridiculous (let's say more than 1000% off) and/or systematic.

I made it on Aug 18th, with an estimate of 8 days, and today the estimate is 6 days...

hey, i have the same problem... i started the construction also on the Aug 18th... estimated 10 days... but the last 8 days it still at 7 days left...

i know it is estimated, i know at the finance update it will reduce 0,1 or 2 days... but 8 times 0 days??? thats more than bad luck...

just my 2 cent...

I don't think this is a bug, this seems to be the BBs intention with the code. I think something for the suggestion forums is to suggest reducing the inaccuracy of the estimate (which is a suggestion I'd strongly support myself).

Yeah, I had an arena expansion last month that went over by 5 days. (Supposed to be 7, lasted 12)

I honestly don't even know why we have 'estimations.' Why not just have it take as long as advertised? Does this feature bring anything extra to the game?

I think the idea was to add more uncertainty, so you can't plan out exactly when and how much you need to build to have it ready just in time for a home game. I don't mind that uncertainty, but when it goes 5, 6 or more days off the estimate, it just gets really frustrating when it doesnt have to be.

But is it really so wrong to have it ready just in time for a home game? Would people have really complained and asked for this feature if it hadnt already existed?

No it doesn't make it wrong. But the BB's don't want 100% certainty on a lot of things (i.e. training sublevels, potentials, etc). Which is fine with me, actually.

Those are fine with me as well, seeing as those make sense to have some uncertainty. It would be no fun is you knew all superstar potential players capped at exactly 125,000 or every 19 year old took exactly 2 weeks to pop in JS. In fact, I would be against changing those any other way. I would guess there would be huge BB riots if they were to change. Arena expansions tho? If they changed those to finish exactly when estimated to finish, would people be rioting?

I wouldn't riot over any change in an online game that I don't have to pay for.
