Fishbowl East MVPs Season 7 Week 3
Pancakes with Jam and Cream vs. Black Label Society 99 - 132 (42320088)
A long match title but a short night for a lot of the BLS players who had finished this one by the third and had thoughts only of beating the Wombats. I don't know if Pancakes thought he could get some training minutes but playing Gerd Zero for 48 minutes at PG (1/11 FGS while his opponent McArthur had a game high score) wasn't the best strategic move. Overall it was a great shooting night for BLS hitting 50% of 3s and 52/96 FGs.
3 Shaun McArthur Black Label Society 24 PTS. Was seen standing over Gerd at one stage shouting, "Now you really are zero, you punk!"
2 Xavier Rodger Pancakes with Jam and Cream 32 PTS. 33 years old and only on a $40k salary but he was the one player who consistently scored hitting 13/18.
1 Grgur Fatur Black Label Society 15 PTS. Tough call for the 1 vote with Bell hitting 7/8 but in the end 20 rebounds against great rebounding opponents like Huaizheng is a great haul.
Bell Park SuperCats vs. Melbourne Goldfish 106 - 96 (42320091)
Well the 2/3 zone was always a risky move but then with Bell Park running and gunning it was a disaster however it was at the free throw line where the real damage was done with the SuperCats getting 34 free throws.
3 Gian Piero Della Corte 22 PTS 4 STE 17.5 rating. Xie a worry? Not when you have a $120k SG in proficient game shape. Corte easily won this matchup.
2 Radosław Rymer Melbourne Goldfish 29 PTS. For the second time it was Radoslaw that was the best Goldfish guard propelling him to the top 10 in the league in scoring.
1 Fang Yao Zhong Bell Park SuperCats 15 PTS 14 REB 5/7 FGS. Just the latest in a long line of players that have taken on the new Goldfish "star" Ofek and won easily. Ofek's quote has changed to, "Sure I was a star in España League ACBB the toughest league in the world and in the B3 for Spain's best team, but in Australia D2 I can't guard anyone or do anything but foul."
Geelong Vipers vs. Chumunga 82 - 72 (42320089)
A big upset here as Chumunga have won everything recently but probably had to smash their enthusiasm down to none to do it. Jahe was still his dominant self and had a great battle with Domingos, but the young trainees didn't turn up to play and Karp Kalachev...just wow!
3 Karp Kalachev Geelong Vipers 20 PTS 21 REB 8/8 FGS. A double double double and perfect from the floor would have been enough, but he kept Kozic to 7 points.
2 Gerd Jahe Chumunga 36 PTS 6 AST 5 REB. Is he the most expensive Fishbowl player this season at $4,200,000? He may be but he seems to be worth it. A do it all fiend who had a brilliant battle with Domingos.
1 Carlos Domingos Geelong Vipers 33 PTS. Great scoring but Jahe made him work hard for every point.
