welcome Kilrtom :D I dont think we could have gotten any better a demotee for the league!

With Kilr here, this sets the dreamers back another season or 2.. pure training focus this year again.. not sure what i gonna do....

Evening Blokes.

Well it seems that our Div 3.16 will not be active so I plan to be active around here (if all good with you guys)

We were lucky to receive 4 Div 4 promotees, and after looking at each team, i think its quite obvious i will take out the championship this season.

Bloody Corio Bay (renamed from Avalon Jets) bought a gun just before the playoffs and beat me in straight sets, even though i went 22-0.

Well with a $433K roster that i now have, i should dominate.

Stadium is sitting just over 10,000k , so yes i will likely sit around -$200K all season but i dont mind.

anyone get any good draft picks? my were just plain crap - thats what you get when you dont scout and go undefeated

any idea when the schedule will be out?

did anyone in AUS pick up a All Time Great 18 y.o?

cheers

G'day Roozer,

Quite a roster you got there for so early in the season. Glad your not in Div 3.12 this season

Nil draft picks here worth mentioning. And I had a invested a bit and had a decent pick too, ah well.

Ive seen a few ATG's on the forums. Some look the goods!

Hopefully the schedule is out soon so we can start planning our seasons

hey guys

yeah got the old fellas. im not one for the training side of things. i like to have established players

im looking forward to the cup draw actually. hopefully some ABBL teams play each other!

so Vis, did you purposely tank in Div 2? if so, may I ask why?

i would love to be in Div 2, and ultimately the ABBL.

do you think if i had of got promoted last season i would have gone alright with my current roster? (just so I can also plan)

i dont know what the salaries were like in Div 2 teams

cheers

Hey Roozer, yeah i tanked last season in Div 2. I considered it a good tactical decision to get the most out of the extra income in Div 2 and get my team ahead (or catch up!).

I believe to be a successful and competitive Div 2 team, you really need a large steady income. My arena was very neglected compared to other teams, so I decided to focus on expanding my arena last season and training up some young guns.

I don't regret it at all. My team is now in a much stronger position for future promotions, and I think my team will hold their own when they get to Div 2 next

As far as how you would go in Div 2.

I think you would have relegated after one season in Div 2. So tanking prolly wouldve been the best option for you too.

there are 2 things roozer you need to remember with the structure that you follow

1 : While you are training games shape, your team stays stagnant.. Meanwhile, your opponents train skills and their teams improve. Whilst you might compete with em for 1 season, the next season your opponents will have blown past you

2 : Your players are losing value all the time.. You will never recover the money you paid for them, and subsequently you wont be able to afford new players as their skills deteriorate. Training makes money, if done right...

If you promote, you get 500k.. you are saying you will be -200k all season, so with promotion bonus you will have 300k, nowhere near enough money to buy the players needed to survive in div 2.

Winning and promoting quickly is great.. but i think the fall can be just as rapid and dramatic.. The old guys might get you to div 2, but i think they will run out of puff well before you can challenge for ABBL, and you will have no $$ to fall back on, and you will either bankrupt or be back in div 3 in no time..

Remember the story of the Tortoise and the Hare my friend...

Going to be a lot of fun re-organising my roster later in the season for the playoff run

so this playoff run... is it going to be all-out for promotion?
