The seller didn't receive the minimum bid price he was willing to get for him so he bid on the player himself.
He will pay tax.
(Example: you receive 90% of the sale of this player... the winning bid is $100,000... keeping the player costs $10,000 vs selling him for less than you desire)

Yes, but on the bright side, the player is also considered a new player so they'd get a lower percentage if they went ahead and re-listed him.

If you fired him, you can't. (If he was over a certain salary you could buy him back, but as a new team all your players will be below this amount)

You still have your original 18 players so that's a very odd question.
