well I can imagine a blocked layup bouncing from the rim. Was it a distance shot? Even then I'd say its possible, even though not probable. For instance when the shot is blocked to an upward curve, if you know what I mean.

Oh, sure, it can happen. But it obviously wouldn't happen often. Some shots even get blocked out of bounds (a thing that I've never seen in this game).

The thing that happens in the GE is that it is set up so that after the shot is blocked it is counted as a RB. Thats why the clock resets.

If the coding is such that any time there's a rebound, the clock resets, that's understandable. But the ball has to hit the rim for the clock to reset IRL.

I understand if this is just one of those things that's a bear to code for, and so they took the next-best solution. But I only noticed it just now and wondered if it was intentional or an accident.

I saw it 1 or 2 times, when the ball goes over the backboard after the blocked shot. Unfortunately the ball was given to the denfense...
