What do you want to hear? There are a few explanations one could tell you: low stamina, low experience, variance, odd lineup, wrong defense, away game, TV game, low effort...

I really doubt it is a bug, those random events happen once in a while. We all have to accept those annoyances once in a while.

What I'd like to hear is an explanation from someone who can check what was going on. I'm not sure if you bothered to read my post in its entirety but to respond to you:

Stamina - may be low, but within the first 9 minutes of the game, there is barely any significant effect whatsoever.
Experience - may be low, since it's only at 2. But since I'm not entirely sure how experience affects play I won't comment too much on it other than 4 of the 6 fouls were non ball fouls, 1 was shooting foul, 1 was offensive foul.
Variance - Have no idea what you mean, if you mean I am the 1 in a million which it happened to, then so be it. But since 1 in a million is such a small chance, I'd like to be sure.
Odd lineup - I'm pretty sure my lineup is not odd whatsoever seeing as I've been playing him at C for the past... since the beginning of the season.
Wrong defence - I'm starting to doubt you even read my post. I stated that I played LI/M2M which is arguably the most standard setup there is. Which leads me to believe that you didn't bother looking at the game either. According to the guide to BB, M2M is generally good against Base offence, especially if you have the better individual match up. Seeing as I was playing an inactive team (which was also stated in my post), all with players no higher than 3k salary (in my post again) I don't see how the individual match up was so bad that my player fouled out in 9 minutes
Away game - sure HCA gives the advantage to the other player. But PLEASE look at the match I posted. I easily won. If I am assuming correctly, HCA usually significantly kicks in around the third period, not the first 9 minutes.
TV game - I fail to see how a TV game causes more fouls, if someone could explain be my guest.
Low effort - I remember reading once that telling players to play crunch time made them play "harder" i.e. more aggressive which would in turn generate more fouls (for both teams). Conversely, I then assume that taking it easy would make the players less aggressive.

Bottom line, I get the feeling you read my title and dismissed the entire body of my post... which is where all the relevant information comes from. Instead, I am receiving some kind of blanket answer saying just accept it. Since BB tries to replicate real life basketball, I've never seen someone foul out 9 minutes into a game, especially if they were better rated than their match up. Sure you can say it was a 1 in a million event, but if that event happens a million times, would it really be 1 in a million, or maybe... just maybe... there is a bug.

Either way, this is why I brought it up to the bugs forum, as I said in my post. To point out a potential bug, or receive an explanation from an official person (BB Marin is an example of one of these) since they have access to the GE and can see the inner workings

What I wanted to tell you is, that even if sb gives you an explanation, it would be a useless one - mainly because we cannot see the "inner workings" and have to accept it anyway.

Every now and then one of those "OMG how did this happen"-threads appears and tbh. we never get clear explanations or guidlines how we can avoid those things. I had a game where my sub player did not get proper minutes and all I was told is that it was a bug - not why or even how I can avoid it - I have to accept it because it happens every now and then.

But I understand you want to know what happened there.

I had a player that made me rage-quit this game for a few months, (21244418) - season 17 tells stories. You will NEVER see such a behaviour in real life - and still we see and enjoy those BB-"features"...

I already know BB is full of many odd occurrences, I've read the forums enough to know that. I just want to know if what happened to my player was supposed to happen or not. Seeing as what happened to my player was basically the equivalent of a player who is being trained fouling out against a bot team in 9 minutes

edit: I have looked at your player in season 17 and yea that is a lot of foul outs. Maybe he was a foul prone guy? Now take a couple of minutes and look at my guy. Never had a game with more than 2 fouls. All of a sudden, 6 fouls in 9 minutes, at least your player followed the norm and continuously had high amounts of fouls.

We cannot replicate real life completely, as much as we try, because in real life no team would have started playing a match fielding only 5 players with no backups or reserves. Maybe your player wouldn't have fouled out if he had "cooled down" a bit on the bench? I guess we'll never know. Our policy is not to support 48 minutes per game per player lineups, and if something weird happens in such cases, so be it. It's a risk, it's unpredictable and it's not recommended.

He's been playing C the whole season. I don't see any difference between this game and any other game this season except the fact that this game was a walkover. That's why I was so surprised with the foul out.

There may be a backstory here. Maybe the ref's also named Joshua Calder, and the player-Calder took the twitter name JoshuaCalder, so the ref-Calder has to use Joshua_Calder, and he's resented him ever since.

Okay, maybe not a walkover in the technical sense, but quite close... Inactive manager that hasn't touched his team from the day s/he signed up for BB...

It really looks like I'm gonna have to accept that the ref just doesn't like Calder for that game because Calder hasn't had foul troubles playing defence as C ever except that one game. Hope the ref in tonight's game isn't named Lars Intek....
