10k Bench Lukas Manzke(9336557)
12k Bench Fabian Ifran(24402715)

With HCA and an obvious skill and depth advantage, the Panthers should come out on top convincingly here.

Country Rank: 1

86k Guard Mubarek Vira(11836217)
57k Guard Pietro Rossini(10739546)
17k Guard Siegfred Garlit(28991083)
47k Guard Abolhassan Thairti(21389057)(Saudi Arabia NT)

43k Big Witold Nowaczewski(9654954)
34k Big Zulfiker Hasefe(11837951)

Burns once again with a massive skill advantage here. Another easy win for Burns.

Round 3

Home or Road: Home
Opponent: Hualele(44535)
Manager: theViC
Representing: Bolivia
Country Rank: 2
World Rank: 4470

Quick Roster Look:

107k Guard Petko Zarev(21229820)
46k Guard Hugo Dimak(6919720)
36k SF Raul Martinez Castro(9733274)
18k SF Stefanos Dandikas(27548614)
11k SF Vincenzo Gambino(27476646)
170k Big Esteban Arce(19742862)(Bolivia NT)
118k Big Carmelo Aristimuno(19742856)(Bolivia NT)

For the third straight week, it should be a cakewalk for the Panthers. 3-0.

Round 4

Home or Road: Road
Opponent: Metallist Kharkov(44258)
Manager: Iron 121
Representing: Ukraina
Country Rank: 1
World Rank: 4

Quick Roster Look:
161k Guard Arkady Fogel(12040640)
126k Guard Mao Ansheng(10642261)
26k SF Jeroslavas Veiverys(13465138)
243k Big Evgen Burimenko(12108408)
110k Big Cheuk Ka ta(16933647)
94k Big Marton Drugics(6159606)

The first real challenge for the Panthers. Metallist Kharkov are making their 15th B3 appearance and have been quarterfinalists 3 times including last season, where they went 7-1 in group stage before being knocked out by pirulos(65398061). Fortunately for the Panthers, Fogel and Burimenko are 33, Ansheng is 34, and Drugics is 38 and this game is being played Round 4. So there will be 3 weeks of possible drops before these teams meet. With Kharkov at home, this game could be a real nailbiter. Without too much scouting being done, this game looks like a tossup.

Round 5

Home or Road: Home
Opponent: king of monoi(51910)
Manager: KOM92
Representing: Lebanon
Country Rank: 1
World Rank: 212

Quick Roster Look:

124k Guard Corentin Guichard(19506143)
97k Guard Gregory Pasquier(19504613)
47k Guard Hosni Skojha(10977931)(Lebanon NT)
280k Big Frederic Delannoy(22724100)

Well, right now with only 4 players, Burns has the obvious advantage and should come out on top. There might be moves made beforehand, but at this point, at least 4 wins by this point.

Round 6

Home or Road: Road
Opponent: FlaSabino(65067)
Manager: MacLister
Representing: Brasil
Country Rank: 20
World Rank: 856

Quick Roster Look:
155k Guard Evair Vaggione(13217451)
143k Guard Osmar Silva Prado(11799672)
74k Guard Egidio Costanzo(11304811)
44k SF Jovan Tarabic(6906282)
135k Big Regis Limeira(16489112)
117k Big Pierluigi Ragusa(14626579)
116k Big Jean-Baptiste Lafleur(9410020)
108k Big Ateneu Mariola(12618047)

With this being a road game, the Panthers aren't in for the easiest of games. The Panthers have a slight edge, but itll come down to GS/enthusiasm as this team at home looks solid. Luckily Costanzo and Prado are 34 and 33 years old respectively, so some drops will be due by this time of the season.

Round 7

Home or Road: Road
Opponent: Oslo Mushroomheads(41438)
Manager: Sharooz
Representing: Norge
Country Rank: 1
World Rank: 35

Quick Roster Look:

112k Guard Angelomario Minardi(13337195)
94k Guard Zhuo Shaoning(17825240)
60k Guard Thomas Sorenson(17825240)
49k Guard Emmanuel Ulleta(8014349)
62k SF Rafael Dito(11868154)
34k SF Andres Clotet(13200526)
26k SF Jens Hellell(13502477)
179k Big Omar Gavardi(11923305)
128k Big Hasan Huseyin Sagun(14663293)
81k Big Joe Caldeira(21316334)

The Mushroomheads are making their 5th appearance in the B3 and are coming off a disappointing 3-5 record last season. They seem to have a balanced, deep lineup and with HCA, could very well be trouble for the Panthers. Edge to the Panthers, but a close game nonetheless. GS and enthusiasm will be huge.

Round 8

Home or Road: Home
Opponent: Panthere(41328)
Manager: claudinompa
Representing: Nigeria
Country Rank: 4
World Rank: 3321

Quick Roster Look:

101k Guard Nandor Sepsey(24249890)
72k Guard Eric Cassez(14919846)
63k Guard Alper Simla(20845241)
61k Guard Audronia Venskis(14261456)
27k Guard Fortunato Furlan(13347115)
122k Big Walter Hugo Nunez(19280387)
63k Big Joy Ude(28833587)(Nigeria U21)
54k Big Ivan Vesligaj(16827195)
16k Big Raanan Salomon(28747877)
13k Big Isah Khomu(30095951)(Nigera U21)

Not a very strong lineup and with HCA, the Panthers should roll!

Prediction

The Panthers have 5 guaranteed wins and then 3 tough road games. I think they'll beat the Mushroomheads and FlaSabino, but fall to Kharkov. Which will leave them at 7-1 and a spot in the knockout stages. A lot depends on avoiding injuries, maintaining GS and hoping that Jutras doesn't drop too much. I think Burns can make a little international noise. Should be fun to watch!

Unless his opponents make further purchases, that's 7 guaranteed blowouts.

That was incredibly cool of you Bballin! I love that Guillame Beaulac made the list of players. His 100th career Canada Cup game goes on Thursday. With 400 career Canadain League games and 100 career Canada Cup games he has over 500 games played in Canada with over 6000 career points, 1500 rebs and 1500 assists combined. The question is when he should retire. I'm leaning towards never.... ;)

First game vs. the Kingston Beginners is tomorrow at 7pm est. As some in the Canadian Community might know I'm not a regular forum poster but I'm usually online in the chat function of the game viewer. If I'm not online for the beginning of the game I won't be for any part of the game. That being said, I'll will be online tomorrow.

Goto go back and reread everything. Lol.

Thats a great schedule. Good luck. Hope you make Canada proud. First look at my schedule made me terrified. Hopefully I am overlooking something. Can't wait for Bballin's writeup and will then share my thoughts as well. No large PD for me, so minimum of 7 wins is a must. Will be hard without SG but hopefully I can pick one up (introduced tax really hurts) and somehow squeek into top 32.

Will try and watch as many games as possible

TORONTO (AP) -- Panthers Start Slow but Flex Defensive Muscle in 2nd Half

Herman Kearns believes the Lawrence Park Panthers are built to win games like this. That's because they've got a little more mentally tough.

Kearns scored 20 points to match the 20 by Lawrence Pickens, and Pierre-Charles Jutras added 21 points and 15 rebounds, and the Lawrence Park Panthers beat the Kingston Beginners 94-58 Tuesday night.

After capturing Canada's Naismith division last season, the Panthers have vowed to make good on their B3 appearance. Boasting 4 Canadian national team talents, they are not to be taken lightly.

"We'll fight through any adversity we face," Jutras said. "We are a tight group and you're going to have to play 48 unbelievable minutes to beat us."

After a tense first half, they made the win look easy by the final horn. Only a Terrell Lachance dunk prevented a first quarter deficit and a struggling Thomas Simmons' only jumper of the half staked them to a four point advantage at the break.

"The Beginners were um, beginning to worry us a little bit there," manager Mr. Burns stated. "A couple guys were perhaps a little hung over, and needed to run up and down the floor a few dozen times to shake it off."

Kearns knocked down a quick three to open the 3rd quarter, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Kingston peppered the rim with an abundance of inside shots but could not get them to fall. After 36 minutes the lead had ballooned to 20.

Another 7-2 run for the home side to begin the 4th all but decided the game, and the fans began buying beer in bunches to celebrate. The players certainly noticed.

Said Kearns, "Got to give it to our crowd tonight. All the drinking they must have done for New Year's wasn't enough and they kept going tonight. We tip our hats to them, even though we don't wear hats on the court. I mean our hats afterwards. For the streets. You know?"

Árpád Für tried to keep the Jamaican squad close, with totals of 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. The rest of the team couldn't get it done, shooting a combined 17 for 75.

"We wasted a great first half man! The second half we were out-muscled man! At least the Olympics are coming up and we can again compete in the bobsled man!" Für said.

NOTES: The first 1000 fans received Sex Panther cologne, with Brian Fantana at the gate to personally hand them out. "60% of the time, it works every time, just like Mr. Burn's gameplan," Fantana quipped. ... The parade outside was not for the Panthers home opener, nor for a Leafs' Stanley Cup win, but just for a Winter Classic Victory earlier in the day. ... Beginners SF Lukas Manzke shot a horrific 1-for-15. The team returned to Jamaica on a team charter while he was forced to navigate Toronto's Pierson Airport and organize a coach ticket back for himself.
