Just FYI

Game manual http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/rules.aspx?nav=Tactics

and quoted from game manual

"Princeton: outside/inside focus (fewer 2 point jump shots, regarded as outside by GDP), decreased pace."

GDP considers it a slow offense, but to be honest, a snail considers Princeton to be slow. If the game ever had conditional tactic switching (sort of like hattrick does), Princeton would be that offense you switch to with 2 minutes left and a ten point lead where you don't care if you make another shot, as long as you use all 24 seconds of shot clock. Unless your big men don't have good handling or passing, of course, in which case they'll turn it over.

Slow, slow, slow, is what I'm saying.

My impression of Princeton, from the original by Pete Carilll, was that the front court guys would take a lot of 3-point shots. Does that actually happen?

In general terms, less than I'd like, but more than other offenses.

I've experimented with it off and on, even with 5 guards but never had that much success. Of course, I never gave it much of a chance to work either.

Here's my latest effort. Only 3/7 from my big men from 3-pt range.

I ran it very heavily for three or four seasons, until GDP came around. When it works, it can be great, but it's also almost guaranteed to have a six minute stretch where you score maybe two or four points. If you get enough of those few minute bursts where you hit a few threes and maybe a driving layup or two, it can score well - if you get a lot of those droughts, you may be trying to win 65-59.

Hrudey promoted to division 2 using this offense. I use it now as well when needed. In real life spacing is critical. .. movement like motion but with more space. There indeed may be scoring droughts but it is balanced with buckets being scored in bunches.
If your bigs can pass. .. this is a nice offense to run.

On BB I don't how it works.. but in real life it based on back cuts to the basket a lot hi/lo screens, easy layup good driving.

They keep passing the ball up top till the player is free of a screen for a easy lay-in or the pg/sg drives and creates a floater shot. On BB I don think that happens or if that will happens.. It says less 2 point shots, so lets assume they keep moving and settle for 1 shot.

rebound, passing, stamina GS, driving and IS would play the biggest factors. if this the case. this is just assuming not BB gospel that is a 100% fact. Its a slow pace based on the theory.
