Do you have different players? Are you training out of position? I too have 2 players that get subbed out at the end of blowouts with some regularity, especially when training out of position. I have complained about it too, but not much to do against it except just dressing 5 players like said above.

This is not necessarily true.

I usually suit up 8/ 9 players, and have trainee at say PG for the 48mins, and a backup/res for each of the other spots. In the 8 seasons ive trained them, ive not had problems with this, even when there is injury/foul out, it doesnt affect the trainees position. The key though is to not have a different player as the reserve as the backup, make them the same. Otherwise you can have the starter as backup too, then reserve as someone different. All have led to trainee staying on court though. And my staminas of my 3 trainees are all under 4.

I don't know if you correctly read what I said, but I said I don't think stamina is the issue. Stamina just affects performance. What I spoke of was Blowouts. I'm assuming you don't have many blowouts and on top of that, any blowouts you did have, wasn't usually doing the line up setting as described in his post. I've done what he has done, and when the game was a blowout, they'd sub my main in the last few mins of the game, no matter if I set him to starter, backup and reserve. It's just the way the engine is, that's why when trying to control minutes, you want to find a scrimmage opponent depending on the difficulty accordingly

Well you assumed wrong (seriously, what a stupid comment). Can I use last night's game as an example?

(72615506)

Pg is my trainee, sg I tactically set for 48min to get them ideal for the week. I could continue with pretty much every game over the last 7 seasons as an example.

The stamina bit I added as extra info to help the orinal poster with his problem. Definitely not stating that it's the issue

Actually went through the same thing for a stretch last season. My trainees couldnt get 48 minutes, blowout or not, unless I played 5 guys. Trainees usually played 46-47 minutes. Even when I played with 5 guys in a few games my trainee fouled out or got injured. In one scrimmage played 6, trainee also got subbed in the end.

Posted it as well and there was no clear consensus on the reason. This season so far am now able to get 48 minutes. Only changes are: my trainees are older, have higher stamina and different teammates.

IMHO its a combination of stamina, players on the court, the opposition, and chosen tactics - the GE fielding the most "logical" (based on its algorithm) lineup at the moment but I have no concrete data to back it up.

What I did last season was just focus on 2 trainees. Not ideal but what can you do? <shrugs>

Well sorry if I don't look through your match history. However it's been stated before that blowouts will have garbage minutes that the coach will give to a sub. Not sure why, but it happens, maybe because all your subs got decent amounts of minutes the coach didn't see any subs to give the time to.

yer i dress 9 players and set my trainee to Starter, Reserve, Backup.

The key is to also set your bench guys to be Reserve and Backup. 9 times out of 10, this works out.

I have had instances though, where, during garbage time, the trainee gets subbed for a starter, which makes me believe that stamina does have something to do with it. Trainne stamina is atrocious - this might be a problem? Not sure.

only dressing 5 players does guarantee 48 mins though. (except fouling out obviously).

but dressing 9 seems to work out for me most times.

Most of the time it does, but during blowouts is when it tends to happen. Only BBs can know why at most, no one else knows how the GE works

It was just a pretty outrageous comment to say in 6-7 seasons that you were assuming there hadn't been junk time matches. They are extremely common. The lineups are very predictable if you set them correctly, and as coach said, setting the same player as backup and reserve is the key. Don't have players dressed up but not assigned a position.

Despite doing everything perfect it's possible to have players not get 48 minutes because of blowouts. I got 2 of them who don't get 48 minutes with some regularity. I don't have that problem with other trainees.

I didn't say there weren't junk time matches, I said there probably wouldn't be many junk time matches that coincide with you setting your line up in that way. Even with setting up the lineup "properly" I find I still get this if I blow out the game
