Plus 1, I also like each of them although Im not all that fussed about gameshape training.

Perhaps rather than reducing the effectiveness of gameshape training, more weight could instead be given to gameshape when you actually do get the playing minutes perfect the previous week.

Actually I take back my previous statement where I agreed that all of the options I put forward should be a priority.

I dont think we should be combining micronations as I still reckon an app would help improve things.

My summary on the options is;


Create an Auto bid function would be really nice but I dont think it would have a huge positive immediate impact on increasing the numbers of Managers. Would be nice IMO

Stop LCD & blanks +Improve current subs options The strength of LCD with a blank line up is that it better balances the minutes of your players. Where is the advantage of having strong 6th 7th and 8th players if they aint gunna get more than a couple of minutes on court. Must be fixed asap IMO

Further reduce the financial advantages of tanking Steps have already been put in place to make tanking less appealing but I agree that it would be great for everyones enjoyment if tanking could be further discouraged. Should be fixed IMO

Fix Micronations through combining them
Unless the task of "separating" the micronations was an easy one, I wouldnt be combining them.

Develop and release an "App" I voted for this. The world is rapidly changing and having a good quality free apps is the easiest way to get new users Absolute urgent must IMO

Balance strengths of strategies&costs (or prove=) Hard to abbreviate what I meant in such a short sentence. Perhaps some generated demo games with some players of different skill sets might be a way of calculating the degree of imbalance of strengths of different strategies so that they could be adjusted or alternatively prove that all is equal. Would be nice IMO

More Advertising/Marketing would be nice but I dont know the financials of the business and the past cost benefit analysis of money spent advertising Would be nice IMO

Reducing the effectiveness of game shape training Not a huge advocate of this but it would be nice if a Manager got better rewarded when giving his players the optimum nbr of minutes worth considering IMO

Increase the speed that players can be trained at Its not something that I had thought of previously until it was suggested but I cant argue with the logic in favour of it Definitely worth discussing IMO

"increasing" in terms of new managers no it would have no impact. "increasing" in terms of retaining managers I think it will as it allows you to have a sporting chance of bidding on players that end between midnight and 5am.

And for us in particular that is the majority of players.

How about inflating the economy or reducing the cost of building the arena to make it relatively similar to 25 seasons ago when the economy was inflated compared to today? That's a key barrier for new managers.

Paying for removing seats should also be allowed. A minor fix that could be easily implemented.

I wouldnt mind being able to renovate my stadium which would involve getting rid of some bleachers and putting in some more lower tier

That said Ive only just started my 3rd season in Utopia and already have my arena half built.

Making the seating cheaper would only favour the promote at all cost teams who buy old geriatrics.

(i.e. Most of the teams in Div II in Utopia this season)

It would favour all new managers who have to build their arenas really. I don't particularly care about Utopia, they could leave the prices as they are over there.

Alternatively to reducing the cost of the seats they could increase salaries and revenues but leave the cost of the seats as they are today.

In any case this should be done together with the marketing/App strategy in an effort to retain a good part to the influx of new managers.

That said Ive only just started my 3rd season in Utopia and already have my arena half built.

You're more than $4.5 million away from a near optimal arena, that's halfway only in total seats number, isn't it?

More to the point, it would favor those who haven't invested in their arena, to the detriment of those who already did invest. So, say, two teams start at the same time, one spends on players and moves up, the other builds his arena. You now hand a huge advantage to the first team, who made the decision to win rather than build, and put the second team further behind the curve because they had the foresight to build a solid foundation for their team.

I'm not saying, incidentally, that the economy is perfect. I just hate to think that the solution to the problem is one that rewards the grasshopper for partying all summer, while the ant who gathered food for the winter gets nothing.
