A different take on this: how much attention do we think managers actually pay to the TPE?

I'd definitely pay more for your two players than Schirinzi, and I'd hope in a free market situation that'd play out as well, but who knows.

I know GMs can make judgement that transfers are overpays based on TPE, but again, I'd want to see examples of them not being reasonable/sensible if the TPE is obviously flawed for this to be an actual issue?

Hi,
The first problem here is the small sample size vs. variety of skills as mentioned, but also another problem is grouping 20-21 years old players together. If the TPE prices come from 20 y.o. MVP player with 77 TSP, that would certainly result at much higher estimate than 21 y.o. with 77 TSP.
I put him on Transfer market because I wouldn't train him anymore since i found a player with similar skills. I knew probably noone would bid 700K or more. I listed at 420K and was just able to sell, only one person bid once and bought him.
I agree with Manon, I think the managers are quite aware not to overspend because of higher TPE estimate. I have also seen many times people bidding much more when they see the valuable skillset and low TPE estimate.

No problem,
I think one suggestion to BBs would be to make the TPE estimate groups more restrictive, and not only use very recent transfers but also older transfers to have more samples.
