Well I would think either fouled shots should count, as it's a way to score points, or they shouldn't count but points scored by free throws are not counted either. The box score doesn't count them as Field Goal attempts, but they are a type of shot attempts, namely free throw shots.

I would assume the GE PP100 averages the PP100 on all kinds of shots, weighed by the distribution of shots in a game.

While the shot itself is static (though maybe stamina plays a role?), the way FT's are generated is actually a result of the offensive flow. If a player makes 9 great drives and is fouled 9 times, and makes all 18 FT's, but also takes 1 jumpshot which he misses, should he have high or low PP100? Fouled shots do not count as Field goal attempts, but who says PP100 only counts field goals? There's a lot happening in the game engine and only a fraction is visible in the box score.

If you compare it to the NBA's/NCAA's Offensive Rating (which counts points scored or produced per 100 possessions), those do take into account FT's. For players, they also partially count assists, but they also count possessions whereas BB count shots. I do think it's a better comparison than soccer though :)

However, I don't know we can get much further since we don't know whether it's actually part of the PP100 calculations.
