(1) If a player comes with the "ineligible for playoffs" tag, then it is not meant to play this season and should't be counted for the overextension tax. If such a player is counted for the overextension tax, then it is a bug.

(2) Salaries are paid based on the games to be played the following week. (that is clear from playoffs weeks). My league game next week will be in div.2. But my economy is judged as it will be in div.3. This is also a bug.

So this is a double bug.

You gave yourself the answer:

overextension tax, week 14

It is not week 1!

founded in S3 IV.5 (34234) - returned in S28 IV.7 (34515)

I think the idea of not paying salaries for players that are unable to play any competitive games that week should be considered. So if you buy a player that is unable to play playoff games and your still in the playoffs you don’t pay their salary that week. It would give managers the chance to plan for the next season without having to worry about paying an extra salary for a player they can’t use.

Yes, that is the perfect suggestion to do I think.

And I would add no overextension tax this week because we don't really know if the economy of team is overextended. This is pre-season and a lot of things can change.

I call it a bug in the sense that this situation goes totally against the spirit of the "overextension tax". I mean my salaries right now are low for div.2 but I had to pay overextension tax (WTF?)

And I would also eliminate the training exception in order to calculate that tax. This is mixing two different things and it is confusing. The spirit of the overextension tax is clear. But the way it is implemented is rather a tool to force managers to build through training. If you want to do that, don't call it overextension tax.

He will play in division two where my team is not, by any means, "overextended", rather the opposite.

I agree their salary should be paid this week, as there is a competitive game in this economic week. What I suggest would allow 2 extra weeks to buy players for the following season.

It would allow you to buy players during the playoffs without having to pay their salaries giving you more time to prepare for next season. If you promote by winning the playoffs you literally get a week to buy players before the season starts which for some players isn’t enough to get the right players in.
