In Italy you must start in 5, and finish...mh......in 2? In my long basketball 30 years "career" I finish only 2 times in 4 but never less.

The limit is 2. The means to remember it is that a team must always be able to play an inbounds situation (one to pass, one to receive the pass).

Article 21 Game lost by default
21.1 Rule
A team shall lose a game by default if, during the game, the team has fewer than 2
players on the court ready to play.

Thanks to @Moussx, i had in mind that rule. The ability to make a pass. And the rule makes sens with this in-bound situation.

However that rule may apply to an in-game situation, where the rule of three may apply at the start of the game.

I checked the rules of french federation and they talk a lot about how you'll be punished, in one way or another, if you do not present 5 players at the start.

To come back to the question at the beginning, in £Buzzerbeater, if you start with 3 players you do not play with three players but with 3 + 2 created for the game. Therefore you are 5.

Maybe they got custom rules in their local league. It's like how rules in the NBA, college basketball and G league all have different rules (and all differ from FIBA rules)
