Go 1 on 1 forwards for the rest of this season. It's more or less a fool proof plan.

I'd start with ID and 1V1 forwards for the first 2 seasons. ID trains slower so it's good to get that up when he is 18-19

Is that suggestion from coach Parrot?

I don't have excel so I have not been able to use it, hence my usual regime is 1v1 to jack up his DR for OD elastics, then train OD. Since OD also gives ID training, and 1v1 increases IS (which I assume would give ID a positive elastic pull), I have always thought that ID could be put off for later. How does my training plan stack up against yours in terms of speed?

It's based on a training guide I got my hands on recently.

I'm not sure who put it together and if it's outdated or not but you can check it out here: (https://docs.google.com/document/d/16kvxJiABku7x4-JN1iI5Kc...)

If you want to maximize the benefit of SF training I highly recommend doing Inside Defense (C) at least until All Star Break, and then follow that up with some 1 on 1 Forwards to gain skill in your Driving/Inside Shot/Jump Shot/Handling. Do that until he is close to turning 20 and then jack up his OD with Pressure (PG). I followed that plan and was able to get +52 Skill Points on my former U21 player last season (Lorenzo Shipman) who also played dominantly in my Utopia league.

Doing the Inside D first gets it up to an adequate level to where he won't be a liability and when you get to Outside Def. training he'll become a superb defender which is difficult for even higher league SFs.

Great recommendation! Should ID be the first thing to be trained or get some 1v1F first, then some ID, then go back to 1v1F and OD?

I personally like ID on the shorter players, definitely could go 1v1 /OD too, but right now on my SF trainee in utopia I've finally switched to 1v1 and I have his ID already at a pretty high level.

Training ID first means that now you won't have to do it as much when he gets older, so I'm a big fan of ID, then 1v1, OD, and then back to ID again if you so desire.

I was a bit unsure on the ID first, since many are apologists of getting as much pops as possible due to % being higher thanks to gym and yt, so I always doubted if it was effective to do ID first and sacrifice some TSP in the beggining, but your experience certainly will make me try your method instead, thank you!

I am training 3 SF that are now 135 tsp with 25y.
my plan was
1vs1
IS
OD/ID using all the elastic i created with high HN and IS and alternate to maintan the salary low
and 1 pas a season from 22y

It is clear they had no defenses untill 21/22 years, but in 2 seasons they reached good levels

I am curious to know, why training ID first is better. Only to be a bit more competitive when he is young?
I guess the way I did maximise the elastic effect
Please share your reasons
