I don't know it's not possible to split potential skills in six.
We need some data from the last season.
Somebody remenbers?

It is not an exact sience, but there are 12 ratings divided over 5 stars. So it probably breaks down something like this:

Stars
1 announcer
1 bench warmer
1 or 2 role player
2 6th man
2 starter
3 star
3 allstar
3 or 4 perennial allstar
4 superstar
4 MVP
5 hall of famer
5 all-time great

Please don't hold it against me if something elso comes out of the draft, but this seems the most logical answer :)

Having in mind that only a couple of players in my draft have 4 or 5 star potential, I could be spot on!! Do you have anything better?

Could be. But if the logic of generating potential is the same as the one in generating skills (where there is an equal 5-way split), then the density of potentials in different star ratings must be different. But then again, all of this is just speculation.

So why make it even more difficult then it is for the moment? 4 and 5 star potential is way better then 1, 2 or 3, but saying that only 5 star potential (= top 20% of potential rating) is all star or better doesn't make sense at all. Fact is that you can't ever be sure, because you don't know for sure what the specs of your draftees were after you drafted them.

So there is a logical (even) distribution in the potential/star rating, but not in the spreading of the number of stars?

Sorry, I think I said something confusing (although technically correct) when I answered a question of yours before.

The star ratings for SKILL are divided up 20% into each category.

The talent star ratings depend upon the potential, whcih is not equally distributed. Far fewer than 20% of players are 5* talent in the draft ratings, but 20% of them are 5* skill.

Thanks for clearing this up. I did realize you were talking about skills in your other reply, but that created two possible scenarios about how talent is assigned.

Since talent is unevenly distributed in the pools (and this was stated quite clearly stated when the default all-star potential were assigned), though there are two scenarios of how to do this: less players with 5* potential, or more potential categories lumped under the 5 stars.

In retrospect, the latter structure doesn't seem like a very logical solution in many respects

You are right. My suggestion, while possible, is not exactly the most logical way to arrange it. Apparently the pools just draw less players in the 5* talent range.
