i think that there are some hidden skills that influence FT.
FT is something that is bothering me, in fact, and I think that is something that should be improved in the future.
For me it does not make sense that a player could have outstanding shooting and terrible FT... some players simply are not able to score a single FT during an entire match, even if they have, say, 12 or 15 chances... this is totally unreal, even shaquille o'neal could score 50% of his FTs. and with the changes concerning the fouls in the end of the game, a team can be losing by 12 points in the end of the game and win by repeatedly fouling players that just can't score on FTs.
FTs have increased importance on BB, and FT training is too hard... I think that you should be able to train FT at the same time with the other positions, but sharing the amount of FT you could train... like training 20% FT and 80% rebounding, for example... you would be able to train 100% rebounding if you want, but you would be given the option to improve FT simultaneously... that's what I think... and I also think that outstanding scorers should not be lousy free throwers, this do not make sense, these skills should be linked somehow...

35 free throws is a really small sample size.

No, it isn't.

Flip a coin series of 35 times, and tell me when you get 33 heads (or tails)

I personally think that either experience or stamina or both have an impact on free throws. I have a player who has screwed me over a few times during close matches. He is supposed to have respectable FT but in at least 2 matches this season, he has thrown up bricks and it lead directly to losses for me.

However, his stamina is not good and neither is his experience.

Finally, I also wonder if there is better success rates when you play at home.
