I've been wondering whether it's not better to leave ticket prices alone for a home game to start off the regular season. As I recall, ticket prices tick up at the beginning of the month irrespective of whether a new season is starting, so by waiting you get to see how much of a hit you take to sales. Then you can do the math and see if it's even worth it to reduce prices.
