I would encourage you to train strictly guard skills(JS,JR,OD,Handling,Driving, and Passing) It is best to train these in one position training. There is alot of good info in the FAQ thread otherwise feel free to shoot me a PM I will help if I can.

That player is very trainable and could/should be the focus of your team. It may take a few seasons but in time he could be brilliant.

but in this current market with all prices so cheap training isn't really worth it at the moment.

I think that your logic is fundamentally flawed. Even if you assume that there is no value in selling trainees right now it would still be a leap to assume that there isn't significant value in training players right now. An 18 year old trainee won't be ready for the transfer list for 2-4 seasons and in that time frame there's no reason to assume that the market won't pick up before then.

Deciding not to train for a third of a season (even if it's just training and flipping) seems like a really questionable financial decision and I don't really understand the logic at all.

I have been training these guys since the 21 year olds were 18 and puzar was 19, ive gotten all their guard skills to fill out, now my plan is to get them each one more pop in Jump Range, then next season do pretty much all jump shot with a little passing and OD mixed in. What do you guys think?

I stopped training about 2 weeks ago. Lets say I went out and bought some trainees, that would probably cost about 300k for 3 trainees for 1 position training. In the meantime this would cost me games that I might have otherwise won in div 2. As soon as I buy these 3 players their sales tax would allow me to get about 65% of the players selling price when I sell him.
Assuming I got the players 2 weeks ago, then in 4 weeks time I would sell them due to hopefully picking up some good draftees.
So I would get 6 weeks of training per player, which probably means 3 pops, which might add 100k in value per player. However after tax I probably only get about 50k in profit per player. However, the salary I pay for those 6 weeks is going to be around 30k anyway so I only make 20k profit per week per player.
On the other hand, I can train stamina and free throws for my current older players and use these players to win matches in div 2.
I am going to start training again after the draft, it is just that I don't feel it is beneficial for my team in its current situation to be training players.

In my opinion I think I am better of improving my current players and focusing on staying in div 2 and I will start training once I get my draft picks.

I have been training these two players all season together. If I get all of their primary skills up to Proficient before the end of the season, will they be legit starters, assuming I train them again next year?

Just trained OD this week but no pops. Training OD again this week hopefully he'll pop to strong. Then I'll try to get passing to proficient and jump shot to proficient. I know his best position says SF but I'm trying to make him into a PG. Any thoughts?

I would try and get his IS, ID and Rebounding all up to prominent. Start with IS training until IS is up to respectable. Then rotate between the 3 skills.

I would also give him some One on One training and Jump Shot training.
