understandnig a FCP ni this game is rather easy: you either steal the ball before the opponent gets a shot, OR the opponent gets an easy shot (read easier then with any other defense).

So it's quite normal that any attempt they tried, had higher chance of going in...

so far for the "defending like a bot" that Revo talked about.

FCP can work in this game, but play it against the wrong opponent, or with the wrong team, it can be devastating.

I have won many games using FCP, while I saw it work like a kiler machine. I also had 1 terrible loss, and it might very well have been against Joe, or Sum, but I'm not sure any more...

I guess there's also some in-betweens. But I didn't have them yet. I recall making the choice only versus teams where I was confident it would work (and it did) and use it once as a desperate act of madness, in a game I didn't expect I could win, and then made the defeat worse by picking this desperate action, knowing beforehand it wasn't likely to work, but didn't know anything else to play either.

god, another week with GS 7 for Otto.

i'm going to make him play to much. make him go down in GS, and then get him back up again... cause he just won't go up, no matter what i do. Aslong as he's Gs 7, he isn't preforming as he should be. and he's utterly worthless for the NT. It's time he started moving in GS, and i don't see any other option left anymore...

yeah, smoethimes it takes a long time for them to move up huh?

almost my entire team moved to 9 this week. Just my new buy and my 2 centers didn't make it.

I lost my first game of the week nevertheless. But I already said I didn't expect to make POs this season.

I'm looking for a cheap trainee for SG at the moment. I realy lack SG in my team, and besides when I want to train JR, Sammy and Van Eeckhout aren't good for that spot. (unless I would go for guards in 1 on 1 training, but I like forwards better...)

So if I can find a new SG, and train him some time along with Sammy, he might improve and become good enough to fill the SG spot in myteam, so I can win a few more games again.

By changing Manic with my new PF, I weakened my team yet again. Can't keep doing that if I want to stay in div II.

First need to get rid of my experienced C, as ni a few weeks I'll be focussing on inside training, and then Sammy and Van Eeckhout will be playing C anyway...

I'll have to start replacing my team in the comming 2 or 3 seasons anyway, as the average age is about 32, if you don't count Sammy and Van Eeckhout. Sooner or later, it needs to end.

i'm not sure about what to do atm. i'm considering to blow his minutes really hard, and then get him back in line. Liessens was blocked in GS a few seasons back. Eventually, Sum forced him to play to much. Gs went to 6, the week after it, it was up at 8. considering that my goal for the cup was to make it till the Allstar round, which is comming up next week, i don't really mind the cup anymore.

And if i have to have a low GS on any player, then it would be best if that were next week, where their is only 1 league game...

from Nt GS point of view, Otto is blocked at 7 and remains useless for the NT in that state. Next week is the game against Czechs, where i would need him in GS9, but since he won't budge, he'll still be at 7 next week and the week after against sakartvelo too...

So might as well try to force his Gs to go down, and then get it back up afterwards. then atleast, he should be able to play against Sakartvelo...

very good news for us today.

we managed to beat our nothern neighbours, the dutch.

Not only that, The dutch have been eliminated for the european championship. The only way they could end up making it, is if we take a savage beating from the Czechs, the Russias would have to win against Romania and lose against the Macedonians and then the Netherlands would have to have the best score average...

However, we are still in the worst spot of the 3 remaining teams (Russia, Romania and us that would be). Our point average might be better than the Romanians or the russians, never the less, we are still facing 2 teams that we need to beat. Sakartvelo will CT us, which is a no brainer. Other than the game against the Czechs, they have TIEd each game, and will have a huge enthousiasme by the time they are going to face us...

And we have to get a victory against the Hosts of the european tournament, the Czechs... Next 2 games are gonna be very hard ones. One loss and it's all over.

Either Romania or Russia will end with 5 victories. Considering how things still have to end, it would be in our best interest if Russia were to win against Romania ( Russia has the worst point average of the 3 remaining teams that are contending for that second spot) and would give us the best chances if we were to win our next 2 games. Romania can CT Luxembourg if necessairy, which would mean they'd make alot of points, and could possibly stil catch up to us ( again assuming we win the next 2 games).

Atleast we got our fate in our own hands now. let's first focus on the game against the Czechs and see after it. If things go bad, we could end up lsoing the last 2 games ( czeches because of their HCA and Sakartvelo because of enthousiasme if we don't pay attention...)

decisions will have to be made, lets hope we can make it to the next round.

due to familiar circumstance, i've had to quickly make a line up for the Czech NT. i hope it will do, since i don't have the time to analyse the Czech NT due to the familiar circumstance. I won't be able to be online for the upcomming day's, so for those who are mailing me for U21 updates, please send your mails to JoeMaverick for this week.

more info about it later. i hope that we'll be able to win.

guy's, i'd like to appologize for not having updated you guy's for such a long periode

first off:

european qualifier ended in a defeat, which costed us our second spot, but let's face it. Their enthousiasme was much higher than ours, so their wasn't much that could have been done to avoid the loss. They seem to have saved their enthousiasme for the very last game, and we had lost a great ammount of enthousiasme in the game against the Czechs where we had no other option than to CT them to keep our hope up for qualifying for the next round.

I look back with mixed feelings about this NT campaign. Their were some good things that came forth out of it, and once again, i learn a few new things during these past games. But i can't help but say that i'm pretty dissapointed that we didn't make it to the european championship. With the Netherlands having trouble with their gameshape for nearly the entire qualifier, we really had a chance to go to the second round.

When looking back at this qualifier, it's clear to me that the one game that we shouldn't have lost, was the one against Roumania. that really put us in a bad position from their on, but if we looked at the calender, we didn't realy have another choice. I had to save up enthousiasme to play russia if i wanted to have a chance to beat em ( we were a bitt unlucky in that game, could have gone either way, but each game must have a winner and a loser...) and ofcourse i had to build up ehtousiasme for Netherlands too. We most certainly didn't have the most favorable calender of the competing teams, but still, that is no excuse for failing to qualify.

Futhermore, i have noticed that most teams are starting to get their NT's on track aswell. Roumania and Macedonia both have good NT's, but lack the Depth from the bench. From now on, most european qualifiers will have 5 or maybe even 6 contenders so Gameshape and possible injuries will have a very big influence on the outcome of those games.

Next season we'll be entering the consolation tournament again, where i hope that the 8 pregame lotery will not be to hard for us. ( some teams face 8 teams in from rank 50 to 90, where as others sometimes face 5 teams out of the top 30, so it really is a lotery...) unless we get a very tough lotery, we should be able to get into the final 32 and from their on, it's a game by game situation, where anything can happen.

I'd like to thank all the managers this season for taking care of the minutes on their players. We'll try to recover some of the spots on the NT rankinglist that we'll be losing due to the elimination from the Qualifier rounds, but it's going to be hard to win back those spots next season.

For the remainder of this season we have still got:

atleast one game against the Netherlands, to test out some things that couldn't be done during the first game. After that, a few other tests will be done, and once all that is done, their might be a couple of games for the young 20y and 22y old players to give them some extra experience.

I'll also be updating the database on a regular base so you can expect to see alot of players comming in and out of the NT pretty soon.

Also, for those players who have played for plural seasons in the NT, i have no problem in taking those players in the NT to help them get Transfered if a manager would require that. I see it as a way to repay them for the sacrifices they made while their players were in the NT, in terms of training and in terms of managing the GS of those players. If you have such a player, feel free to send me a mail. ofcourse, this only goes for those players who have played in the Belgian NT in competitive games (european qualifier, european championship or consolation tourney. this doesn't apply if your player has only played in scrimmages)

regards

Revo

i've removed some veterans to make some room for the younger ones. Going to see how they perform. It's an experimental tactical option, and i'm trying to figure out what is needed to get the tactic working. hence the many changes in the NT.

i've also done some updating on several players, which was needed. We have a very pleasant surprize in the Guard section, but after updating the SF's, i'm very dissapointed. 2 SF's who could have grown better than our current one ( Ottevaere) have hardly improved over the whole season. and the other SF that looks alot like Otto, but with just a bitt better passing, still can't keep his minutes under control. I have kept track of him this season, and his Gs has been going from 6 to 8 and back all the time :(

If we ever want to achieve something, we are going to need to get better SF's, that is for sure...

Thank god that Sammy has been trained pretty well, but after Sammy, their seems to be a drop off once again... Why can't we nationalise a few french guy's or can't we nationalise Sonics or Joe's SF trainee's...

With all the NT's starting to catch up and getting decent starters, we are in a serious need for a SF monster, and as it stands now, i don't know where that SF monster will come from...
