Is anyone else planning on running then?

Im still pondering whether to apply to be honest. It would seem like the logical thing to do after assisting Leeroy occasionally where possible during his reign.

My worry is with Leeroy being less active (I know he will still assist/advise me when available when i ask) i totally believe the U21 job needs an active assistant to touch on not only the current U21 squad playing as well as assisting the managers training the 18yo's and 19yo's that will at some stage be the mainstays of the team.

So if anyone else was willing to assist me then i will potentially put my hand up?! Tactically im ready, experience wise im ready, i would like to think i have an ok standing in the community as well. Just a second pair of active hands would be appreciated if i go for it...?

My question for Latino as well is he has assisted Yoda well with Bolivia by the sounds but can he handle a big country with expectations like australia? The workload for the australia u21's is no doubt massively multiplied.

personally I think this is the #1 issue Australia has. When I trained Lopins I had the latvian U21 scouts touching base regularly and offering advise from the moment I bought him at 18. In Australia nobody talks to you until they are 20 because there is nobody helping and it is too much for one person.

So, at the risk of pissing off my wife more than I already do with the time I spend on BB (and BBSTATS) ... I'm willing to help whoever becomes the U21 coach with the 18/19 yo's to ensure the following generation is coming along as they should before it is too late for them.

I have also assisted Whitebeard for Australia all season long and did notice an increase in the workload. And I well aware that the workload will be even greater with the U21 side because for example the team changes every season and you need to look after each age group so carefully. But I too have so much time on my hands, Im already on BB right throughout the whole day, pretty much everyday. Time will not be an issue for me and the scenario most likely (no one can 100% guarrentee) will not change.

I have heard this question of can I handle it/am I up for it numerous times now. And 'experience' als comes up. Guys theres only one way to find out..

May I have question for you tremell if you are thinking about applying?

How can we know that you will have enough time for this position and how can we be sure that you will put in just as much effort as the other candidates can offer??

If I may say something on this topic. I agree 100% Trikster and I even complained about this issue on the offsite forum in the middle of the past season. I noticed this and said we needed to change things and get on the players real early. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it already in my campaign that if elected I would see to it that each age group gets looked after and that I continuously get updates each week ideally. I would myself right away get onto introducing myself to the young players coach and advising them on training and help set up training plans if need be. Yeah pretty sure I said something like this earlier. So yeah thats one of the big things I will put so much effort into correcting!

That would be wicked and much appreciated by the aussie buza community for sure. That is the way for sustained U21 success - catching the gems and making sure they are trained to a proper standard so when they are 20-21yo's we are set and not scratching our heads.

Its probably a job that needs up to 2-3 assistants most likely to do it properly scouting and consistently being up on all the potential recruits. So we really need to decide as a community if we wana give this thing a shot properly or just go through the motions of different coaches having a shot at the job and being satisfied at being good not great.

With the way im seeing some of the older mainstays in ABBL since ive been in the league, they have very much been about training aussies for the u21's and NT to keep their interest and stay fresh playing buza so i think this can be an exciting time for us if we can get a team of people overseeing a sustained plan.

Do we have enough farm teams and teams interested in training for the aussie cause - check
Have we got a solid base of experienced managers with NT and U21 experience willing to help - check
All we need is someone to put it all together and a majority of managers to buy in for the long haul

I wrote occasionally as im not going to be seen to ride on Leeroys coatails from what i consider a good reign from him. It was his baby and any success the U21's had (especially his 1st season) was thanks to him. I assisted when asked along the way with different tasks so he could keep his eyes on more important things like winning, which he will confirm.

You will have to take my word for it just like we would have to take your word that your experience wouldnt affect your managerial abilities for the job. I will only take on the job if i have the right people to assist as I respect the time the job will involve, if it looks like im on my lonesome then i wont apply simple as that. To be honest though i dont need to prove anything to this question as i have already shown im willing to go the distance with my own team and put time into it. I have built up and had my team continuously from 2009 til today. Im not on my 2nd team with a different username to mask the ghosts of the past. Enough said.

Wow, tremell it was just a question. I've been asked plenty. Wasnt having a go at you so I dont see the reason why you should have a cheap dig at me

As I said it was because of RL stuff and I told yodabig about it before I left. Wasnt that much to mask actually, I had only been playing for a season. And the I came back and let people know who I was so I infact wasnt masking anything...

Back when I had infinite time six seasons ago I recruited a team of about six assistants and it was gold. I had one person in charge of each age 21, 20, 19 and 18. I had one person in charge of scouting other teams. I had one person in charge of publicity and promotion. It was fantastic.

That was India which is about 1/5 - 1/10 the size of Australia. To really get things going well we would want to do something similar here. Anyone who wants can go back and look on the old forums on Bbstats and see what a great job we did way back on this about eight seasons ago. I would love to see it happen again.

As most people know my workload is crushing this year and I am stepping down from Bolivia as I just can't give it the time needed but I would also be happy to assist Australia U21 in some way maybe with a few players as my mentees.
