Do we all really NEED this information to play the game?

Some of us think that they "need" or they can better see all possible options based on that information. I personally think that requested information might impact for my strategies in the end of this season and also for next season, just as you said to re-evaluate strategy. If you do not "need" that information and you do not enjoy "over thinking", it is your choice. You should also understand that some of us enjoy this game differently and maybe they don't enjoy advice from novice managers without any proof of success - no offense (maybe I'll take some other pills now ;).

Personally I think that rules should be clear from day 1 when Utopia started. That way no-one could say that they didn't know. So no harm to be precise in the rules either.

If you felt that my original post was rude, sorry for that. As you can see, English is not my native language so it is not so fluent and probably I cannot express myself with tone I would like to.

Firstly, I am sorry if you thought my inference was that you were being rude, I didn't think that at all. I am always conscious that many on this site do not have English as their native language. I also don't take any offense to shots at my intelligence through parallels to my length of tenure or trophies in this game as measurement

My point was around how large the statements are about the vitality of the information. I understand the intention to have the rules and guidelines defined so all can work around them, however; we are all it the same boat when you consider the answers given, the game won't fall into anarchy because some of the finer details are in flux about promotion.

Well, according to all this, my last place team of homegrown Utopians probably won't promote.

It's just that BB doesnt have a goal line where it stops and we got one specific winner. We got like an never ending tour de france with different parts of the entire track.

... which is why knowing the promotion rules in advance is important (i cant undesrtand anyone challenge that).

So, i would love to know how it will work next season and the following : next season, league III will be full of 256 (16*16) utopists. At the end of next season, we will need 64 of them to promote from league III to league II, which is 4 per league III. How will these teams be replaced in league III ?

There are various possibilities, for instance :
- 1/ There will be 64 league IV. So you simply promote league IV champions AND no one is relegated from league III to league IV
- 2/ or you think 4 teams should be relegated from league III to league IV as usual and it opens 64 more spots for promoting from league IV to league III, with rules to be determined.

It has really an impact on the strategy : in case 1/, the door from league IV to league III "closes" next year and u are sure not to be relegated at the end of next season if u are in league III : it's a big incentive to try to promote this year. In case 2/ promoting at any price this season is riskier because the probability to demote the season after is high.

I understand BB tries to keep its options opened, but i think it would be fairer to all utopist to have some clarity one the rules

i think what jeff pointed out here is even more important to know now than the promotion rules for this year. if his second option will be used you can just go all-in this season and tank in league 3 to build arena and save some money. it would be a huge letdown for those who decided to "start slow"
