It's not often that you get a chance to buy someone who averaged 18 and 11 off 60% shooting in the ABBL last season, and much like Hampshire, Gian Luca Marchini was someone I had been eyeing with jealous eyes for quite some time. Ever since I picked up on how useful secondary skills can be in this game, I've always appreciated the 'Small Forward of Unusual Size', and Marchini and mllama's Michael Wayne are great examples of that player build.
Honestly, I was one of the luckiest managers in BuzzerBeater last season. I should've been forced to buy up for a relegation play-off at least, but everything that could've gone right did go right. I'm not counting on that happening again, and the new teams of division II look menacing. I too hope that Marchini serves me well in keeping out of the drop zone this season...
PS: I wouldn't say that a four-peat is completely out of the question for you yet... you could always go the late buy-up route that was popular in the mid-twenties (BB time).
